IRA and 401k if I'm cynical about the financial system?

The traditional wisdom is to max your 401k and IRA contributions to minimize taxable income, but personally I started getting into crypto and finance in general because of my cynicism regarding the future of our financial system. I fear hyperinflation, depression or a complete collapse within my lifetime. If those things happen, my retirement accounts are basically worthless, right? What point is there in saving a few shekels in taxes if it all goes to zero and I can't withdraw until I'm old, potentially post-collapse? Is it even worth contributing to them when I could be putting everything in BTC and holding? Am I missing something here?
