they haven't on a long enough timescale, but they have on a shorter one. i follow a lot of BTC maximalists on Twitter and I'm convinced they're the way they are because they're already stacked in terms of bitcoin and alts take away money from bitcoin. for most people with 4 or low 5 fig stacks, it's alt or bust.
