this is a disproven fable, apparently reptiles have some kind of internal temperature checker or something, idk, i fucking did research on it yesterday because i was using the boiling frog metaphor about something i was talking to my wife about, then she got sad thinking about boiling frogs and i told her that is how people in france cook them (because i'm a fucking idiot know-it-all).
anyways, as far as i know, nobody cooks frogs like this also scientists generally disproved the myth, though in the 1800s there were some experiments that claimed to support it. more modern research tends to lean towards the frog trying to escape as it reaches 25c.


tl;dr frogs apparently do know that the water is boiling and the whole thing was just a really clever metaphor proposed by some japanese guy.
