My mom owns crypto so if what you guys say is true I'm glad she's part of the crypto elite.

>> No.29539664

As of october 2019, ledger had sold 1.5 million units. Let's say then they've sold 2.5 million until now.

Other wallets have probably sold about the same, that's a total of 5 million. The average number of wallets per person is surely between 1 and 2. Let's say that 4 million people own those 5 million wallets.

Looking at polls, I'd say about 15% (somewhere between 10% and 20%) of people owning crypto have some sort of hardware wallet. 85% dont.

So 4/0.15 = 27 million people own crypto.

27/7800 = 0.34% of the world population owns crypto.

The problem with using so many filters like those (networth, computer access, iq) and others (education level, banking access, internet access) is that they are probably highly correlated, so you can't really multiply them.

For example once you've filtered out half of the population for being retards, the remaining ("smart") group has a much higher than average access to banks, internet, etc. So you can't accurately use the global population "disposable income" percentage to this new group.

I have nothing compared to some anons here but I am fairly confident I am in a statistically elite group of people.
I’d say no more than one tenth of one tenth of one percent is holding more than $1k in cryptocurrency

Binance has 18 million
Coinbase around 35 million
Kraken around 4 million
Others are hard to get numbers on with just searching and none of them really say how many are duplicate accounts. I'd venture to say the number is higher than you'd expect. Probably around 300-500 million. But I'm being generous and including vapor accounts in 3rd world countries where they're gifted phones and tokens.
