You'll know cause the price will dump like a rock. The point of the timelock is to make it retarded for the dev to even try. The moment he does, you can bet your ass people will notice and yell on the telegram - everyone will panic sell, and the dev will have nothing left by the time the contract unlocks. So it makes it retarded to even try. Hypothetically they still can but they have nothing to gain from it and it'd be much more beneficial and profitable to just run the damn platform. Hell, it'd be more profitable to just let the platform bleed out and never update it than to try rugpulling from a contract modification that's timelocked.
