On principle its fucked. Its also fucking insane that you can't easily see what the fees for a transaction should be (ie in terms of gas limit, not to mention actual gas prices. You can estimate the latter from GasStation but it doesn't tell you how many gallons of gas you need to get where you're going so to speak, only the price per gallon) .

ETH and any token based upon it seems like a huge shitshow, designed exclusively to keep ETH going through gas fees. Every other sane cryptocurrency out there has fees that you pay (and relatively small ones at that ) IN the currency you're transferring but FUCK YOU for any ERC20 tokens because you better have enough ETH and surprise, no way to see how much that is in advance! I don't know why anyone though this would be a good idea. And no, I don't give a shit about whatever patchwork ecosystem fix supposed to come down the road, this whole thing is bullshit. There should be a giant fucking warning light before you exchange any currency into ETH or a token of what it would cost to get that shit the fuck out again in terms of gas fees.
