I don't understand people holding USDT (other than stability). Isn't it always equal to $1 USD?

I suspect you're a BSV fag. It was you guys who were constantly shitting on Tether and hoping the NYAG lawsuit would end bitcoin. Your hopes are dashed

Europeans were selling because Tether was getting sued by New York. Now they are not, so people are buying back in. BTC goes back to 53k by noon.

What if bitfinex were anticipating punishment and pumped the price with tethers and now before the verdict started selling their btc to prepare to pay up the fine?

18m is nothing to them

>> No.29471867

the settlement amount should be viewed "as a measure of our desire to put this matter behind us and focus on our business."

>> No.29471883

>>29471796
But they didn’t know it’s gonna be only 18m, could have been 180m or 1.8b

>> No.29472166

>>29471883
They wouldn't accept a 1.8b settlement though because they'd win in court and both sides now understand that. Hence the settlement. They settled for $18m because that's cheaper and easier than winning in court and the prosecution is able to get something out of their wasted time and resources.

How much did Bitfinex pay the prosecution to "not find" the evidence?
