It got exposed for what it is: an unscalable piece of shit that clogged as soon as DeFi went (barely) mainstream. This led it to lose market share to Aavax and fucking BSC of all things. The network simply as not ready.

Until EIP1559 or ETH 2.0 come along, it's looking grim for ETH.
