What coin do I buy for a relatively quick 10x?

Anything on the Binance Smart Chain. Since you're a noob just buy some CAKE.

I started with approximately the same a couple of days ago and I've made a whopping -1.71% growth with BNT, ADA, DENT and
>DOGE
with BNT carrying the only actual profit and the other three all losing about 8% each.
In other words, throw a dart at the board and cross your fingers

Even I know $500 is too little to diversify into four different coins.

I'm just poking around for now and seeing how things work. The diversifying was mainly so I don't lose everything immediately. Would suck to be elusively down straight away.
I'll put real money into something at some point, I'm just playing for now.

BSC sailormoon.money will make you at least a 3x if not a 10x by mid this week

please be careful with BSC/BNB/PancakeSwap. There is money to be made with it but it is centralized (this is bad in crypto) and quite shady with fake volume. just be ready to exit your position.

Thanks. I guess my final ultra-newbie question is do I need to buy a maincoin (BTC or ETH) then convert it to CAKE? Or can you buy it straight with fiat or is based on the exchange being used?

i wouldn't tell friends or family to buy into anything right now. we're at the top. i'm trying to get rid of the rest of my shitcoins just hoping for a little rebound. currently holding only 1400 dollars worth of XLM. trying to dump it all at .54, almost did it we were at .53 the other night. crypto is confirmed done and finished until the next crash

and you'll never make it with that attitude either, chummer.
>>29351004
look for undervalued assets when compared to their contemporary peers and invest before the pump. 3 figure hell is in needing to spend time in the shitcoin ghetto which can definitely yield some degenerate gains but they pose a much larger risk. you'll want to look for ones that have a good memetric footprint or mechanics that make it an easy sell to newfrens. if the elevator pitch sounds like it's innovative enough to incite fomo from speculative midwits and newfags then you might be onto something. remember that time in the market > timing the market. coinbase listings have been doing really well lately, as well. so keep that in mind. DYOR and don't rely on others to spoonfeed you. these are the training grounds and you must sharpen your intuition. good luck, new fren.

Where are good places to look besides looking at low marketcaps on exhanges?

My advice is to never trust biz. There's a lot of bot and scammers. People trying to artificially pump their shitcoins to exit scam thanks to you and pajeets creating shitcoins to scam you. Only invest what you are prepared to loose and make your own research on what gives value to a cryptocurrency. Learn about the mining network of that specific crypto you're investing in, research about the dev team, follow their social media account. Finally, always remember that whatever crypto you're investing in, it's always tied to BTC. This like a standard.

Whats your opinion on them long term? Their mission seems solid but I'm not sure if MasterCard and Visa would jump on board with them instead of creating their own system.

you gotta aggregate. browsing this board is like hitting the pavement. but it still does yield a lot of opportunities for exposure. use a spreadsheet to keep track of assets as you hear about them and do a couple minutes of research. if the shill is doing their job they should provide an appropriate elevator pitch but there are a lot of pump and dump scammers who know how to socially engineer and emotionally manipulate. genuine threads have organic discussion. not people shouting at one another to stay poor niggerfaggot. join a discord with some well-intentioned veterans and stay vigilant. again. time in the market will beat timing the market. but if you strike lightning and invest in a something that does a 100x then consider yourself lucky enough to have bypass a year or two of trading at the sake of experience that will make it that much more likely to lose those gains. with all these altchains running right now it's a good time to get in forks/ports of existing projects and protocols.
