Damn never seen him on bass before. Thing with buckethead is he has monstrous technical skill but his playing completely lacks soul, which Flea has copious amounts of. Playing an instrument will is about 80-90% soul and 10% technical which is why buckethead is still some unknown guy despite having the biggest gimmick in history and a guy like jack white has hundreds of millions of fans. I’d rather listen to a guy who’s technically shitty on guitar but when he plays the guitar sings than these virtuoso guys like buckethead or malmsteen or vai any day of the week. Bad is my personal favorite on that album. Impassion is also a great older track of theirs, curious lurkers. You can really see how the sound evolved.
I cant wait for the 4th album. That teaser vid he put out a few years ago was such a good riff. Super percussive, nice use of harmonics, just amazing rhythm to it. Glad there are others on /biz/ who can appreciate Polyphia.
