Coins are harder to fake, easier to sell, more recognizable, and have the potential of numismatic value down the line. The only thing rounds have going for them (save for very artistic/special mint rounds) is that they're cheaper. pure Ru is worth considering since its vital in the chemical industry as its a catalyst for many feedstock chemicals. But then youre investing in a consumption metal rather than a stacking metal (gold isnt really that useful, but just worth that much because of historical worth).
This means that
a) its worth is derived from its rarity and usefulness
b) if they find alternative catalysts (unlikely to be quick) it can loses its value
c) its very unlikely the price will shift a lot since the amount they can mine per year is very stable and demand is pretty stable as well.

It can be interesting if you are already solid with gold and silver and want a third metal to hedge incase people no longer trust gold for some reason and silver drops for some reason as well.

you have an entire decay tree, so if your U235 decays with alpha radiation and you shield it with a piece of paper, well good job, now the new isotope that formed decays and it might have beta decay (which is also relatively easily shielded but if you strap it to your forehead its bad) or gamma decay. Im too lazy to find out how much uranium decays until its a stable isotope of some element, but whatever happens i would recommend at least keeping it at arms length

There is no such thing as "gamma decay". The uranium decay chain is mainly alpha. Not to mention that some of the products are actually very long lived, so those daughter products won't be worse than undecayed uranium atoms.

Not putting beta-radiating stuff next to your head is sound advice tho. Maybe wrap your head in tinfoil first :^)

Mostly alpha and beta (the "branches" in the decay tree are from beta). You do get gamma rays because not all of the decays are to the ground level (represented by alpha-branching ratios). Excited nuclear states decay by gamma emission since the lifetime of those states is usually much smaller than the lifetime of the daughter. Slide 11 onward for the curious:
