29234945 No.29234945 [Reply] [Original]

Hi anon from earlier here with an update:

so to recap what happened:
someone unknown managed to log on to my binance account, market sell all of my alts, then send the winnings to their own bitcoin address (this is the address: 17Sizni9gHtWD4SmUSchWiWKUXszv75vAw

this is the tx: 036bbf80b919ff48b0ad5e37149e6798ec5406f65a23883eec3b4d9d4abcfb34)
--> if there is an anon who can find and identify this guy i will unironically give them 50% of the money if i get it back, i dont care. screencap this. its just 14k dollars in total but its gotta count for something, all ive ever had.

I lost all of my money to this scumbag.

binance said to go to the police, the police didn't know what a "bitcoin" was. so thats that.

to prevent any shittalk:

-I DO HAVE 2FA (google) active for Logins and withdrawls
- IDO have email verification for withdrawls
-I do have significantly different passwords for email and binance
-I do not have anyone close to me who knows anything about my crypto lest my 2fa or binance account

There is no email to be found concerning the withdrawal in my account, binance has them- which implies the thief had access to my mail as well as my binance.

This was a highly sophisticated act and i do not have any clue as to what the hell even happened.

be careful friends, its not real until its cold hard cash.

PS: Yes i do have a hardware wallet, i wanted to trade thats why it was on binance

No i dont believe I am at fault, I had every measure in place and I was still robbed of my life saving (yes, i am poor, now even more so)

be careful out there anons, this is not a larp.

tldr: I lost everything to an actual hack (they exist) and police thinks bitcoin is magic itnernet money they dont udnerstand - didnt even take my statement.

There's no chance without police. Even police might not actually find anything but they're the only ones with a chance. Unless you're in a 3rd world country you should have some branch of police who handles cybercrime exclusively in your region. Those are the people you'd want to report to not some dumbass patrol cop.

I always turn my phone off when using Google Auth so by the time any screenshot is sent the code has expired

i been berating my banks over sms auth. i told them they are stupid af and it's not security.
that said google 2fa type apps would be better with a secure chip on the smart phone. technically they could use the sim as it has secure element properties and capability to hold private keys and secrets. sim-swap wouldn't work on those as the secret is not tied to your account but a specific chip.

thanks anons for all your comments

many of you mentioned some very sane thoughts and i have checked most of these boxes.

my 2fa is google, not sim based.

I dont have an ip but at some point, i dont remember where, i could see the orders were set in germany (where i live)

When police told me they didnt know what a bitcoin is and to go write a statement tthey could 'forward' i lost all hope desu....

i was hoping the pwoer of autism might be able to help but at this point im just utterly destroyed.

binance support said they dont offer insurance, so how can i go about this to have themget me my money back- it seems to have been an issue on their end!

I own a samsung S9+ with latest updates to firmware. I have the usual social media but nothing obscure.

i do nto watch porn on my phone, ever- its too tiny a screen.
only sites i browse are biz and youtube

I also live alone.

So here is what actually happened.

1. That wallet is owned by one of private OTC crypto-to-cash exchanges.
2. Degenerate OP tries really hard to scam the exchange for funds compensation, but it is never going to happen.
3. Degenerate OP has also probably been scammed by that OTC exchange and got no funds in return so that is why he is kind of assblasted over this situation.

Here is imaginary version of what could happen in a parallel universe.

1. Some fags got his 2FA restore code for the exchange
2. They also got 2FA restore code for the e-mail service provider
3. They also set a VPN tunnel to match the OPs IP (that's why Binance told him to fuck off - because IP was the same)
4. They also got all passwords.

OR here is what is also likely to happen

1. Degenerate has set his API key WITH withdrawal permissions to some cheesy web-site and got fucked for being a retard.

I cannot decline this option too.

lol There's a reason why you gotta through lectures about this shit at most jobs.
It's because it happens, all the time. Major assets have been lost, stolen, or compromised from a simple phone call to the receptionist "Hey I'm the CEO of your company and I forgot my password, can you tell it to me?"
And they actually do.

If you're not tech savvy, you really aren't aware of the risks. And most people are not tech savvy nor do they have to be.
