Im seeing BTC more and more in news, mind you a lot of it is finance or directly crypto related news sources. But...Yahoo and others are saying "BTC may just hit 100k" ... Simmons buying $300k of crypto, the twitter posts.

A guy at my work last week said he is buying AMC, he doesnt "trust cryptos" so I havent really seen normies buzzing about it yet. Although a normie told me she bought $50 in January.

Anyone else seeing signs of the top or is this "awareness" phase?

Its really hard to tell this time. The alt season wasnt crazy, but alts are pumping decent this week. If BTC goes to 100k the alt season is going to be beyond insane, putting 2017 in the dust.

However, I remember the mania in 2017, we are nowhere near that yet. I also havent seen normies talk about it. Only on I heard of was a rich ((real estate)) firm partner in my fathers company was "heavily considering" buying BTC

agreed i think general awareness of blockchain/BTC is higher, but i can also see a huge alt coin pump incoming making alt coin holders rich, which will drive the normie herd to throw as much cash as possible at BTC in hopes to drive up price. If there is one thing I've learned. Its that the moment normies, my friends, my family members decide to get back into bitcoin. When they all start treating it as an obsession, or even to the point of cult-like status. I will sell.

Seeing how people reacted on GME made me remember what it was like in 2017. There were people who swore up and down how amazing Bitcoin will "tear down modern finance" or how it will "make the common man rich beyond their wildest dreams". Or how there were songs, music videos and even prayer chants for crypto in general. The moment bitcoin or any other crypto obtains critical mass-appeal again and develop more religious zealots. Just like those retail investors who bought GME at 400 and thought they were "sending a message to Wall-street". When it reaches to that point, its time to sell and bail out.
