Planning to quit my job in a few weeks. What should I tell them? Do I say I'm quitting to manage my portfolio (subtle brag) or keep it vague and say taking time off from work? I don't like my boss so I'm inclined towards the former.

Never tell anyone you have money. Say you’re taking a break, that’s all.

Tell them it's a family emergency,

That way if you ever need your job back or a resume bump they'll give you one out of pity, instead of telling you to fuck off if you brag

This and it’s not a joke. The only people who should know you have money is maybe your parents, and that’s only if you trust them with your life. If they like to gossip don’t tell them shit. I would tell them this >>29141992. It’s a much smarter way to handle it. Don’t burn bridges.

Thanks frens. I'll take the smart way out. Getting more and more difficult not to show off a little with my newfound wealth

Congrats OP. Another option would be to take a career break of 6 months. How much you make?

I would just say I'm leaving to try to start my own business and if they ask what it is just say real estate or property management or something vague like that.

Find out how much your boss makes, and then tell him you found a new job that pays double whatever that amount is.

'We need you back on the team'

'I'm too old for this shit!'

'Come on anon, one last job'

'Alright, but this time I mean it'

Fuck that, don't quit. Keep collecting pay by telling them you're on special CIA assignment, and they're required by law to keep you on the payroll.
