Daily Reminder that there are more than 2 metals
Inb4 COMEX shill. You can buy as much silver as you want

Chart depicts crustal abundance on LOGARITHMIC scale
Rarity + a decent number of applications = GUARANTEED GAINS no matter current price

>Yellow/PGEs are top-tier
>Blue/REMs are expensive because of low recyclability. However, new tech could ameliorate this like how Aluminum became dirt cheap to extract
>Red industrial metals are okay for owning stonks

PHYSICAL TIER LIST V4
>S
- Iridium - 2nd rarest, relatively low price, 2x last 2 years, still discovering uses
- Rhodium - automobiles, 10x last 2 years; however may be lower in future as cars become electric
>A
- Osmium - rarest, 1/3 the cost of Iridium, still discovering uses
- Rhenium - automobiles, aerospace, reasonably low price
- Ruthenium - electronics, aerospace, & medicine
- Silver - low cost, incoming COMEX default pump, many applications, widespread use
>B
- Gold - ultimate store of wealth, eternal, stable value
- REMs - rare because of low recyclability, good but few applications
>C
- Platinum - GOING UP!
- Palladium - volatile price yet minimal gains
- Indium - equal rarity to silver, electronics
>D
- Mercury - hard to get acquire/hold, fewer applications due to toxicity
- Bismuth - various applications, pretty

what historical value?
junk/constitutional silver is one of the best ways to stack. It's government minted so easy to identify and verify, convenient to buy and sell since it's already fractional, and usually comes at a very low premium. The main downside (to me) is that it's not very pretty, just regular dirty currency, but the silver is as good as anything else.

>why gold keeps falling?
If I had to guess, it's because investors are feeling that the economy will keep growing in 2021 and there's better places to put your money than something that generates no return (or, considering storage/security costs, gold has negative return).

IMO there's still a strong case to buy gold as a long term inflation hedge (or maybe less long term the way things are going), so maybe use the drop in price to buy more gold!

It's probably fine, I've bought all my silver on ebay lol, just get a neodymium magnet and a scale.

So the deal is, that I have a $30 credit at Paypal.
I want to buy a Mexican Libertad, but they are all so expensive! I don't care, the way I see it I can buy this one for $50 on ebay from ProfileCoins.
The catch is, the store has to accept American Express via Paypal. JM Bullion accepts Paypal, but not American Express, and not AmericanExpress>Paypal. So a local dealer wouldn't be the answer here.
AMEX platinum gives me $30 free at Paypal every month, and I have two AMEX Platinums. I used the first one at Littletoncoin.com, but now I want a Libertad, and they are $78 all in at Littleton.
So $50 for a libertad from profilecoins via ebay, which allows Amex>Paypal transactions seems like a good deal. Thank you for humoring me. As for the reviews, I think 11k ebay reviews is probably enough, but I will look if there are any reviews not on Ebay, good idea.

do you have any thoughts on pearls? they aren't a metal, but they are considered precious and hold value. the reason why a pearl is relatively cheap is because they are created and farmed. If mollusks could grow silver and gold, silver and gold would be significantly cheaper too. I think the value of pearls may've gone down because farming has gotten better (countries like China export a lot of pearls), but not all pearls are equal. Japanese Akoya pearls are worth several times more than saltwater farmed pearls sold around the world and it's because Japanese Akoya pearls have a more brilliant luster and reflectivity than other pearls.

I imagine that pearls will hold their value against inflation, but at the same time you're battling the fact that pearls are farmed and more and more supply is entering the market everyday, so that keeps them from going up in value.

>calling stackers conspiracy theorists and evil natzis : done
>changing the prospectus : done

>killing a president : done
>changing the law at the last minute to limit the amount of silver you can hold : done

Now all currencies are fiat, and no one other than russia has a military to challenge. I'd guess they bring out the new CBDC, peg it to the dollar so wall street can move in quietly, and then pull the plug and kill the usd.

Roughly in the same boat and was going to order a half ounce of golf if not doubling my silver...buuutttt ammo on backorder looks like it will start shipping soon so gotta hold off on all PMs. I can't say "No" to any part of seven cases of 556 at 43cpr. I might just sell one of the extra P226s to make more silver or some gold happen, though. My head is spinning over what to do... If gold does drop to 1600 I WILL get some somehow, just don't wanna sell any funs, but might. Dilemma.

Ammoseek will find the cheapest online stuff, which ain't cheap. Rural King and a couple of other big stores plus some of the mom and pops aren't gouging, but it blows off the shelf as soon as it comes in. Some RK employee was bragging about buying it all up before giving customers a shot at it, then selling it - far away from the store, of course. Hope that fucker gets fired.
Optics Planet and Sportsmans Guide lets you backorder, and until just recently OP had some 556 under 50cpr, and 30cpr for the Russian steel case. They just jacked it all up though and the imported stuff is now listed as "temp not available". They're no longer pushing out my shipping dates though so I think mine will starting coming in soon. We'll see. Whichever, I WILL NOT pay these gouging prices. I've got the minimum case per rifle and half case per pistol, except for 556. I'm close on it, but want more. Got two cases for each AK, ordered long ago at $200 each, but I'm finding I like ARs more now, hit better with them. I have yet to mount a RDS on an AK though, which should do it. I'm thinking about order four Holosuns since they're ok for chinkshit, and the Romeo5 I have it pretty decent. The shake and wake in real nice, when it works. Sig blew me off when I emailed them, so gonna bypass them and just get the Holosuns w/o Sig's name (and markup) on them. I know I should pony up for better than Chinkshit, but too many rifles that need optics, plus that shake and wake really is slick as shit.
No MREs for me. I raise poultry and waterfowl, and stacking rice covers carbs. Fuck vegetables, for the most part anyways. Seeds are a thing among preppers.
I just want more PMs for prepping now, but those big impending ammo bills precludes that now. I'm pretty sure the jooz will keep suppressing silver for as long as they can though, so I'll get some, eventually.Worst case I extend myself and just dump a classic Sig pistol or two. I got enough of them- cheap police trade ins, beautiful thing

People need to stop paying gouge prices for it to ever come back down. Impending doom as predicted by some has them panicking though. I'm guilty too with seven cases of 556 on backorder. I actually sold a couple of cases early on when it jumped up to 40cps, thinking I'd replace it later when it came back down to 30cpr. Derp!

also isn't it suspicious that now the financial media - the one entity you can trust to NEVER be on your side - is shilling bitcoin? cnbc are shilling it relentlessly and have been for months. now maybe this is simply because a lessor power, their sponsors, are BTC bulls and paying them to shill. I know greyscale is one of their main sponsors. But i also wouldnt be surprised at all if bitcoin is being promoted by much higher powers to suppress capital flight. Lets be clear, precious metals are the ONLY way to get your money out of the system.

>>29115587
This is another example. Warren Buffet has never traded in his life. He makes a purchase, and holds onto it for a lifetime. In fact, one of his maxims is 'buy stocks you never intend to sell'. It took him years to accept that airlines were a losing trade and exit that position(i dont even know if he has fully exited yet)

So he buys barrik at the top, and now most likely sells at the bottom. this is after a hisory of never buying miners, never promoting gold. wtf? I belive he did amass a silver stockpile in the late 90's, but beyond that, buffet has been a die hard proponent of the system. I bet you him of someone else at buffet took a deliberate loss on barrik to discourage others from buying PM miners. they wont discourage me.

You are wrong, he bought before it went to the top. It went to the top BECAUSE he bought and all the followers flocked in. He sold at the tippity top of $30 too, it was just disclosed now. It went to $20 BECAUSE he sold and everyone followed.
Also it wasn't "him" personally, he didn't make the Barrick Gold decision, it was a relatively small investment "just in case". Looks like they decided they don't need gold for the upcoming Paradigm and they need BTC before they miss the train.

I used to admire Buffet, but the more i scratch beneath the surface, the more i start to see what he truly is.

He is boomer personified. A complete and total tool to the system. He would never dare contradict the system, not in any meaningful way.

His father was a real OG: Howard Buffet

https://freedom-school.com/money/human-freedom-rests-on-gold-redeemable-money.pdf

>I can find no evidence to support a hope that our fiat paper money venture will fare better ultimately than such experiments in other lands. Because of our economic strength the paper money disease here may take many years to run its course.

>But we can be approaching the critical stage. When that day arrives, our political rulers will probably find that foreign war and ruthless regimentation is the cunning alternative to domestic strife. That was the way out for the paper-money economy of Hitler and others. In these remarks I have only touched the high points of this problem. I hope that I have given you enough information to challenge you to make a serious study of it.

>I warn you that politicians of both parties will oppose the restoration of gold, although they may outwardly seemingly favor it. Als o those elements here and abroad who are getting rich from the continued American inflation will oppose a return to sound money. You must be prepared to meet their opposition intelligently and vigorously. They have had 15 years of unbroken victory.

>But, unless you are willing to surrender your children and your country to galloping inflation, war and slavery, then this cause demands your support. For if human liberty is to survive in America, we must win the battle to restore honest money. There is no more important challenge facing us than this issue -- the restoration of your freedom to secure gold in exchange for the fruits of your labors.

Nah. BTC (and others) is a pretty good way to get your mony OUT of the system. Arent' there vairous services where you can buy some BTC voucher with cash and then redeem that on some website to your wallet, no questions asked, no ID, no nothing? (At least was like this when I bought in 2016)
But getting it INTO the system sucks. Cashing out? Good luck with that! You have to fully strip, upload IDs and shit and have a dickload full of work to do to not commit tax fraud (all done automaticall with normal stock brokers). Buying shit? almost no one accepts it, and if so, you might still have to upload your ID to use it.
So tl;dr:
If you wanna get rid of your money, buy BTC!

a medium of exchange is a commodity that, through its high marketability, becomes a commonly accepted good via indirect exchange and eventually becomes a widely accepted 'money'. It also becomes a 'store of value' because of its inherent utility and dependable marketability - owners know they will have someone to sell it to at future date, for roughly the same if not more than what they purchased it for.

Bitcoin is nothing. it has no inherent utility, and even as a medium of exchange it is inferior to a vast wide array of mediums, including other cryptos, like dogecoin, which is cheaper to transact with. of course, they are fundamentally equally worthless, as neither have any intrinsic value.

now, i understand that you are a newfag and have bought heavy bags, but this is not the place to promote them. you are engaging with people who have an economic understanding many multiples greater than your own. I have a diverse portfolio that includes crypto but any money "put" into BTC has a very high probability of being burned into nothingness for my children. It is a speculative space and it doesn't matter how blue in the face BTC maximalists are there is nothing different between BTC and a ponzi scheme.
At least token backed cryptos provide (niche) services that undergirds its value to some sector of the economy at large. BTC is a toy proof of concept that anyone here can fork and duplicate in all but name. Dogecoin in particular making it acutely apparent that the dumb money is what is buying BTC.

>There are QC resistant hashes and protocols. BTC does not and will not have it
It can have it a sense, lets say 2030 BTC hard forks to Bitcoin Quantum and carries on as usual. Again, the quantum computer argument is irrelevant.
>It is tulip mania
No and you're disingenuous or retarded for saying it. Without going into how exaggerated the incident gets in popular culture, the problem with using tulip bulbs as a store of value is you can literally just plant more fucking tulips for free. It's not scarce, you can make an infinite number of them which guaranteed a tulip craze would be self-halting. BTC meanwhile has permanent scarcity, you can know with certainty that more will never be mass produced out of thin air.

Are you listening to yourself!? High tech gonna need a lot of a certain dwindling resource. I'll be long dead by 2097 too, but my stack will carry on into the hands of my genetic descendants, the only immortality we have. That's good enough for me, so I continue to hoard PMs, and funs too, of course.

Gold has an extremely robust chain of custody because a failure to trace it would cause serious problems with law enforcement. That's why criminals both love and fear it. It's also why /pmg/ both loves and fears it.

you know it's technically untraceable, but the government traces it anyways, and you commit a crime if you try to avoid tracing. Everyone here knows this. It's essential to why most of you stack metals in the first place. The illusion of both freedom from they system and defiance of it.

in real truth is the government knows you stack metals and doesn't see you as a threat. They're worried about much larger fish.

Yup, and a chunk of land will serve you well, especially in a climate where your livestock can graze year round, hence no feed bill or extra labor bailing hay for winter. Gardening is a thing, too. We lived this way exclusively for most of our past, just so many now have no clue how or even that we did.

>It can have it a sense, lets say 2030 BTC hard forks to Bitcoin Quantum and carries on as usual.
That requires the miners to agree to it which in an of itself would be a first of its kind for BTC. I doubt any of the dumb money going into BTC understands these challenges. Most don't even know or want to ever use it as a medium of exchange.
>Again, the quantum computer argument is irrelevant.
No it isn't. It is the death of BTC unless it can somehow generate consensus in a network that pretends that it doesn't ever need.
>BTC meanwhile has permanent scarcity, you can know with certainty that more will never be mass produced out of thin air.
No one will ever know if the big whales are just HODLing or if those wallets are lost, destroyed, stolen, or damaged. Deflationary currencies do not work because no one will ever USE them. They will exist as digits on a ledger that everyone just hoards. Then what exactly is the use case?
You could make a similar backed cryptocurrency backed by Stradivarius Violins or Michaelangelo paintings and it'd still run into the same problem despite actually having intrinsic worth.
BTC's transaction times are going to get worse and the energy it sucks up parabolic. When I could just use Litecoin or BTCV or any of the other dozens of Bitcoin forks that fix a lot of these same issues. BTC just has name recognition which is awful as anything but being the crypto of choice for the shoeshine boys of the space.
