Companies need to be able to service and/or roll over their existing debt. If the recovery becomes prolonged, then they will likely need to take on additional debt to remain afloat, at very low interest rates, of course. If yields continue to tick up, expect YCC by this time next year. 'Cap it. The Fed will have no alternative. The corporate debt bubble has only ballooned since last year, and the economy can't risk any more disruptions, particularly not on the magnitude of zombie corporations rolling over in double digit percentages.

Update on my algo progress:

Step 1: Place an order from python script (SUCCESS)
Step 2: Retrieve historical bars from python script (SUCCESS, thanks to anon who helped me troubleshoot the other day, I got my requests to go through)
Step 3: Write the actual script to buy/short once a day. (On this now; considering a couple strategies here. I have a neat little nearest-neighbors algo that I've been using for manual trading for a while, but if I might be able to make money just buying near moving average and selling if it dips below or breaks upper bollinger. Anyway this is the fun part, I'll try and make modular models so I can easily try different ones out.)
Step 3.5: Find a way to backtest maybe? If worst comes to worst I can write the backtesting script myself, but it'd be nice if something already exists.
Step 4: Once I'm sure my script works, I find a cloud service so I can run it 24/7.
Step 5: get rich

COPX is the answer. Face it. Copper is crack in all but name. The desire for newer, faster, more is insatiable. Computers, GPUs, self-driving electric cars, AI enhanced smartphones, medical devices, microcontrollers, networkinging gear, machine learning, surveillance, infrastructure, military, the list is endless. No matter how many cores, how fast or efficient, demand requires bigger, faster, cheaper, and lower resistance. The clamor for fresh interconnects gives nary shit for national identity, creed, hue, gender, asshole virginity or other vain conceit; the multitude speaks in singular. The plea: copper.
COPX couples a single ETF entry point with the the best companies the copper extraction space has to offer, then pushes these already stellar returns to the limit with the implicit leverage of mining companies, all responsibly managed via semi-annual rebalancing to boot. COPX aligns your economic interests with rising powerhouses such as First Quantum, Freeport-McMoRan, Lundin, Glencore, et al. Real companies with physical resources people want, not """tech""" """companies""" pushing shitty ads.
In the last 5 years, COPX has exploded over 3.5x yet still we are early. Copper mining growth will proceed exponentially until every viable space is saturated with it. This is a fait accompli; the sheer number of interested parties and obviously compelling outcomes make it so. The injection of increasingly compact and efficient sensors, microcontrollers, information processing, and storage into everywhere and everything will be this era's seminal revolution, a revolution with COPX holders planted firmly at the receiving end.
Stop waiting for the "pullback". Where we're going, fretting over a few dollars is meaningless. The deliberation is over; waiting is a failure mode. Now. Buy it now.

Don't remember perfectly, but people realized that VIX overstated the actual vol over the next 30 days, so Credit suisse created an ETN that profited when volatility dropped.
Vol was dead for a long time, so people kept buying the dip and regular people ended up with 3 millin dollar accounts managing money for family investment companies. Then Jerome Powell decided he was gonna buy bonds and VIX went >+100% in a day, meaning shorts went to 0. Then Credit suisse was able to call all the notes in because it was in the prospectus.
Bitcoin is the bond vol index (MOVE) version of that exact trade, but new baskets aren't created so momentum traders also move in on it.
Bitcoin traded around 10k for YEARS and didn't even react to the gold breakout in 2017.
However, it did move up exactly when a false MOVE spike occured. Because people think bond yields cant go up, every MOVE spike that doesn't kill bitcoin makes it higher, but eventually one will kill it

ZIXI is a rocket and blast off is next week when they report earnings. For the uninformed, Zix Corporation provides a whole suite of Cyber security shits and data management; email encryption, data loss prevention (DLP), threat protection, archiving for the secure exchange of email, etc. So itheyre an Integrated Email Security Solutions company. But making a strongly push into cloud adoption by increasing coverage of SaaS apps on cloud platforms. They acquired CloudAlly which will add to theircapabilities in cloud-based data backup and recovery, computing

ARR up 11% in Q3'20...cloud-based ARR was up 19%, which is the area to be most excited about and the area they're expanding through acquisitions and strategic partnerships/marketing.

Market cap is only $540.7m, with LTM revenue of $211m. So trading at only about 2.5x. Additionally, FY20 revenue is expected to come in at $217.5m, which would be 25.4% YoY growth. That's huge and it is not priced in. That growth expectation is also way too conservative from the analysts because last earnings they beat EPS estimates by over 13% and the CloudAlly numbers/synergies aren't factored in at all because the analyst estimates for this quarter are still the same as they were a year ago and haven't been revised despite the acquisition in November. Clown shit
LTM EBITDA is $43.6m, a whole ass 65.8% jump from FY19 EBITDA

Currently trading at$10.02.There are 3 fair value models that compare ZIXIs financials, price, growth, and other historical data then compares it to current price action and also compares it to the same data of competitors and peers. The 3 models are listed below and come in with an average target price of$14.67and represents46.4% upside.

EBITDA multiples: $13.86 (+38.88%)

Revenue Multiples: $14.54(+41%)

5Y DCF Revenue: $15.62 (+47.02%)

Peers/competitors for the models include: PFPT, VMW, CTXS, MSFT, and VN2

It's not terrible, but a few suggestions:
1. Shorten the intro music, or introduce yourself and the podcast while it plays in the background, then fade it out as you go to your topics for that episode
2. Come up with a structure, like some recurring segments that you go through, in an order, each episode.
3. Write down most of what you want to say in notes. It doesn't have to be an exact script, but make sure you have every point you want to mention spelled out, with exact phrasing when warranted, plus any research you have. Over time, once you have more of a routine, your notes can get less and less verbose
4. Put your notes on actual paper too, and physically cross items off with a pen or something as you go finish them. It will help, especially if something interesting or funny comes to you while you're recording and you go on a tangent

“Futures” is not just a clever name. They are literally contracts for the future price of the market. The “market” being a basket of stocks. SPX RUT DJX NDX and other things like gold silver oil gas corn wheat everything. The price of your gasoline is derived from /RB gasoline futures. The price of heating your home with natty gas is derived from /NG and so on. This is the real deal. It’s not a game, this IS the price of real world stuff and how it is set is trading contracts that settle in the future for the underlying stuff.

Welcome to the real market where single underlyings trade more notional per day than the entire market cap of all crypto combined.

you underestimate the greediness of the politicians themselves
TFSA was justified as a tax cut for poor people so they can grow their wealth tax-free, but who do you think actually benefits from it? The upper middle-class politicians themselves. Poor people can't afford to max out their contributions annually

as long as you're not using it as a business, CRA's not going to care. It's the same concept on why we don't get taxed on lottery winnings, CRA doesn't care about taxing people getting lucky from a windfall, but they do care about people living off their TFSA (e.g. theta gang in a TFSA probably and withdrawing every month) and not being productive taxable members of society anymore

Smoked salmon is awesome.

I’d eat salmon every day if not for the sodium and mercury. Mutant salmon though? Idk. I do t trust GMO stuff at all. I’ll trust scientists with changing genes when they can create life from elements in a lab. We are hundreds of years from that point right now. They don’t know what the fuck any of this GMO shit is gonna do in time. There has been nothing science has ever created so far that didn’t have unintended consequences.

Damn bro you’re fucked. I mean American shale oil is probably fucked long term. Oil sand production is DEFINITELY fucked. Super expensive to pull out of the ground, and it has to be mixed with higher quality oil. Damn dude on the bright side your calls for 23 might do okay but in a decade or so they are definitely going away.

Most stocks pay them and they show up in your account every quarter.

But they're a meme. If one stock pays a 5% dividend every year, but the other only pays 2% while growing 8% a year, that second stock is strictly superior.

And if you want a 5% yield from it, you can sell 3% of your shares a year.

>but they do care about people living off their TFSA
for people that were 18 when the TFSA was introduced, it is the ideal retirement savings vesicle for the avg wagie. Hell even if you make 6 figures, maxing out your TFSA should be a priority. Even current zoomies, it can be the ideal retirement savings vehicle. Remember the poor dont have enough money to max out a TFSA or trade in options to hit it big

not worried about that
>For example, at Syncrude, we are working closely with the operator and other owners to sustainably drive cash costs below $30 per barrel by 2020.
and Suncor isn't just all oil
TMX to be completed by end of 2022, who gives a shit about KXL just so we can sell oil for cheap to the US

I agree that I wouldn't hold this past 2023 though, it's more of a hedge against the current market. I'll come back to tech/semiconductor after that, they probably need to crab for a year or so for actual growth to catch up (TSM's new plant in Arizona won't be completed until 2024...)

Naturally. The NYSE board of directors together with the FED issues in-pricing warrants (IPWs) to corporations and private entities who can then redeem the warrants for access through the terminal, allowing them to extract the value-differentiation between a given asset and its future in-priced value. The issueance of IPWs is strictily regulated by Talmudical Hermeneutics and therefore a very opaque process.
