I need a cheap computer for crypto, stocks, and basic web and tax shit. Been using my phone so far and need something dedicated to this. I need something cheap as possible, I am a poor fag and don’t want to cash too much out of my gains, but not a total piece of shit at the same time. Looking for good enough, can plug into my tv as a 2nd monitor, and maybe a 3rd screen if possible. Mostly I want small and cheap and able to hook up to second screen. Please let me know suggestions. Cheaper the better, budget $200, max $250 total to my door.

I got a refurbished Lenovo Thinkpad X320 for £100. The guy had stacks of them and said he gets them from wholesale from businesses. You could probably find the same. Extremely portable and sturdy. Had mine for 3 years and no issues.

Just go to bestbuy or walmart and get a cheapish chromebook. They're good for everything except vidya, and you can get them for as low as $300 so they're borderline disposable. the tech has come a pretty long ways in the last decade, I was impressed when I went with my brother to pick out a laptop for his school (ended up getting an HP-something, the build quality seemed decent and it had a good price: performance ratio for a <$1k laptop) and was looking at a bunch.

I also highly recommend Dell laptops if you're willing to spend a little bit over $1k. My Dell 7559 is like 7 years old and still works fine (I think they have updated versions under some other name, its their gaming line that isnt alienware).

laptops like this are probably gonna be your only option for something new. They're gonna be kinda shitty, but as I said, cheap laptops have come a long ways and basically work well enough for everything that isnt gaming. You might be able to find good 2nd hand deals on classifieds/ebay though.

Or a refurbished HP EliteBook on Amazon. Might 50/50 have a wonky keyboard which will cost $15 to replace, they are about 2X as fast as a comparably priced new laptop and 10x more reliable.

Also the EliteBooks have fingerprint scanners and can be set up to do retinal scans so folks think it's super expensive not a used $200 discount from half a decade ago.

I am embarrassed to say the last new laptop I had was a MacBook back a decade ago in my video editing days, burned it out cutting RED footage and stopped doing camera stuff professionally later as I found my previous career, had a few disposable shitbooks, but one was crap and the other was less crappy, neither lasted over a year... and know nothing about PCs since 2004.
