But if you type 'fantasy video game' into google you will see page after page of more or less what I described.
lots of technically talented people floating around but very few can leverage that ability into something that isnt soul-crushingly derivative. No imagination, really, just stuck in a visual rut and now its hard to tell one game in the genre from another.
always a new studio forming to make a new fantasy game that inevitably has nothing original and the studio folds. its the FOMO of the games industry and it happens every time some original game goes big.
at one time endless WW2 shooters were big doins, but we moved on to faggier obsessions.
