How are new workers supposed to gain reputation? This seems like it would reduce decentralization, which is the whole appeal to begin with

>> No.29065638

>>29065283
By joining work groups and proving themselves idk. It’s decentralised in that nobody can see the data they are processing. Right now amazon can but in the future amazon won’t be able to as it’s encrypted before it reaches their machines.

>> No.29065746

>>29065283
Of its like BIONIC then people will build up a reputation over time. First you get low priority tasks and eventually you get given important high priority ones the more points/reputation you accumulate.

Fair enough. What about the fact that iExec isn't the only cryptocurrency to focus on decentralized cloud computing? What makes it better than its competitors?

Giles has been working on cloud computing for 20 years and kind of wrote the (picrel) book on it. They are also working with the Eu, Bosch, intel, etc, etc, already. Including the world economic forum https://www.iiconsortium.org/members.htm
Giles has connections and a history in the area that is trusted and respected.

>> No.29067450

>>29067121
Ok, for my final question, why would people use iExec instead of AWS? Centralization isn't an issue with AWS, because you can simply encrypt your data before sending it over (something you'd be doing anyway with iExec).

>> No.29067777

>>29067450
can't aws simply refuse to do business with you? i've never used aws. can you use aws anonymously? we've already seen they'll pull the plug if you make it into the headlines.

>> No.29068638

>>29067450
Amazon can still access the encrypted data via amazons machines? There is something RLC does to stop even that. The article I linked above goes through it but I’m not a nerd and I cba to read it again. It encompasses AWS and others anyway so amazon can make more profit, customers get a cheaper service that is safer and less likely to fuck up. It’s just amazon has no ability to control or access the data in any way. That also removes liability from them.

>> No.29068761

>>29067777
AWS wouldn’t know what data they were processing with iExec which is good for amazon and the customer. Well, unless amazon are selling data :)

>> No.29069498

>>29068761
>good for amazon
that'd be for them to decide though. they could/would very easily refuse rlc's data.

>> No.29070653

>>29069498
Then the customers can decide if they want to pay less for a more secure and efficient product or if they want to stick with amazon because it’s a brand.

The cloud code of iExec is full of poo. But no pee. You see, whenever you have a critical amount of poo in your cloud code, you always need enough pee the counter the poo. But that's not the case here. Lots and lots and lots of poo. No pee.

I understand, the pee is like the computing lube that makes the poo go fast, but since it is made by the French and they have those poo hole water guns to clean themselves they never considered that god's way of flushing out the poo is how civilised people do it with squirting pee to dislodge the poo
