it could have just as easily gone the other way, anon. Who would have known back then that the world would choose bitcoin? It's like pokemon cards and yu-gi-oh cards. I finally finished my pokemon collection but then everyone started playing yu-gi-oh. Take Etherium/Ether for example; that shit forked and now look at Etherium classic.

Nobody at the time thought it’d be worth anything long term. Seemingly came out of nowhere and was essentially magic internet money that some difficult to access website accepted in exchange for illicit items. I take solstice in the fact I would’ve likely sold at $20 or something but nonetheless

I was in the same boat. I had 3,000 LTC and 100 BTC at one point. I blew 10's of bitcoins on Silk Road ecstasy from some freddie mercury guy. I cashed out everything I had for 20k USD. Then Gox and BTC-E went down/were raided. Things weren't looking great for crypto. Hindsight is always 20/20; back then how would we ever know? Bitcoin is just a pokemon card. People are going to realize its a worthless pump and dump scheme someday and move on to the next standard.

I honestly thought it was another tulip scam, there was no intrinsic value to it other than scarcity once it became impossible to mine. I had a disposable income at the time and over 20k in savings. There is nothing in my life I would ever change except that. If I had a fucking time machine, that is the one thing I would do. Just goes to show that being rational is pretty much the dumbest shit you can do, the real redpill is being as intuitive as possible and solely moved by feelings.

You guys get it. Hindsight is 2020 but I’ve learned my lesson and slowly been stacking since 2018. Doing alright but can’t help but feel like it’s the one that got away, especially when we reach new all times highs.

An anon in a precious bread mentioned how it was BTC being utilized to the full extent of its use case (digital P2P currency) that lead the way to mainstream adoption and that made me feel better. We’ll make it lads just gotta keep on moving forward

>> No.29041965

the truth is it still is another tulip scam lol...... just one on a world wide scale accessible immediately by anyone with an internet connection. The only thing bitcoins are good for is buying drugs, money laundering and hodling until retards buy it at higher prices and then you sell back to USD. Everything is still pegged to the dollar no one gives a fuck about using bitcoin its just about getting rich. Someday crpyto may have a real applicaion right now its just a joke.

exactly. For me buying litecoins at 13 cents and bitcoins at ~50 dollars even with solid ass hands i would have never made it out of 100k profit MAX. You just have to use the pain to BETTER YOUR LIFE. It will hurt you every day but if you do nothing with the pain then you really did LOSE. If you can take the pain and channel it into your career, working out, building relationships with family and others, then did you really miss out? Would you have done so otherwise if the pain did not exist? Doubtful - you'd be a spoiled greedy lucky fucker blowing money on worldly items. I know i would have. PERSONAL GROWTH does not come without SACRIFICE and this will be our biggest motivator. Onward!

Hey, at least back then you could actually buy things with Bitcoin, nowadays underground places like that won't take it since it can be tracked, and "legal" places claim they take BTC but then don't. I had some BTC left over from the last bull run back when I was buying PC parts on Newegg several years ago and I couldn't find the option to make my purchase in BTC anywhere despite everyone claiming Newegg took Bitcoin
