I could think of a few reasons:

People looking to try to hide their cryptogains from taxes.

It was far behind most other coins during the rally and people are seeking something like "value" in this insane rally.

It's relative stability seems almost boring... which might appeal to people looking for a crypto without too much volatility but not the downside inflation risk of a stablecoin.
