Based take, GRT hit conservative Q2 price projections in mid-Feb. Anyone FUD'ing the use case of this coin is either an 80IQ nigger or is accumulating.

I don't consider this to be good long-long hold, but for the next 2-3yr, while DeFi explodes, GRT has good potential to grow imo. "50¢ stablecoin" and "won't break $1" FUD'ers have been udder btfo and had their milky sucked dry by our thirsty green candles.

My favorite part is that I've been around since 30 cents so I literally remember people just a couple of weeks ago saying how $2 end of year was literally impossible. Absolutely no one knows if it will be a good long term investment. Grt prob won’t hit >100 this year but to say it will drop down to $1 again or that $3-4 dollars will be the top is just straight retarded.

My pleasure, I think it's important that people realize that these things have legitimate value, its not gambling.

I feel like it's really easy to say you've done your research by skimming some bullshit whitepaper about DEXs and chains and liquidity and decide to buy when you've been adequately coaxed by textbook marketing and graphic design.

Once you dig in on a project like Graph you realize that a good project is not beyond comprehension; most are just trash and trash-adjacent.

Actually, no, to be clear, I disagree with that post in the way it characterizes Graph as producing apps that will be useful. The Graph provides an essential tool for other apps to be built against. They are providing an essential raw material to other developers. They mine the granite so that sculptors don't need to also be granite miners.

So much of the supply is locked up in delegation that looking at the market cap without context is misleading. Not to mention the fact that the token will be used as currency to make queries. Opening facebook makes hundreds if not thousands of calls to databases under the hood. At scale, the tokens are all either frozen solid or zipping around faster than you can count them. You are going to miss out on a lot of nice tokens and coins in the near future. GRT has most of it's tokens locked up in smart contracts. There's already 2 billion locked up and it takes 28 days to unthaw them once you stop indexing or delegating. Once the host is decentralized, payment in the form of GRT will increase the price of GRT to well over 10usd a token. No developer in their right mind will waste the time and money to index the entire blockchain of eth to pump out their dapp or dex.

>> No.28926815

https://network.thegraph.com/network 2.056 billion tokens currently staked, iirc it was like 1.9 billion only a week ago. 8.7 million tokens burned so far too, and iirc it was 8.2 a week or 2 ago. combine that with hodlers and it's a recipe for a massive pump on the way
