I started trading in 2012 with TA and never made it. I completely abandoned it by 2017. TA probably used to work in the old days, before central banks and HFT. But nowadays it's worthless because of those factors, throw your charts away and just buy and hold.

TA is used as an indicator for trends, nothing more.
If we were trading entirely vs AIs you could use TA perfectly, but since we are trading vs people in a very emotionally driven market, people whom are also aware of TA...

TA as in, collecting various heuristics and metrics to help you assess a trade? Sensible.
TA as in, "charting" aka "double tops" and "ascending triangles" and assorted bullshit - no, it doesn't, except to the extent that TA traders act on those signals and it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. You won't profit from following the herd, though; you will just become a beast of burden whose capital slowly gets funneled into trading fees.

Mean reversion always happens.
Companies always have good bad and bankrupt years from a fundamental sense.
