Well, 4 years ago I was renting a "room" (unfinished basement in a late 1800's era house) and had to take a position at work where I spent 6 months in a northern canadian work camp in the NWT, during the fall/winter where -50C is a normal day, because I could barely afford food with my reduced hours in my city. I used the extra money I saved on living expenses in the camp to buy eth and btc, and laid the foundation for starting a couple businesses slowly (I took the long organic growth route because of being poor). Getting into crypto caused me to start taking my finances seriously, and then probably gave me the confidence to pursue my own ventures.

Now I'm buying a house and make more money some days than a lot of people make in a month. My life is probably 10x better at least directly because of crypto and by extension this board, where I learned most of what I know (unironically got better financial advice here than I have from any other source my entire life). Although I did used to read the /g/ crypto threads from 2010ish on, I never pulled the trigger until 2016, and didn't even really have a job, money or even good computer at that point anyways.
