My cursory reading about the project tells me that it's like every other projects out there promising the 3 main points - decentralized, secured, and utilitarian. So, you have 5 minutes.

this is a good explainer
it's not especially decentralized at the moment - the governing council is a lot of big companies. people (including that video) claim that it will become more decentralized as time goes on, but not everyone cares about that anyway.
an important point is that its DAG is more secure than most blockchains, which are only probabilistically secure. it, on the other hand, is ABFT (asynchronous byzantine fault tolerant)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byzantine_fault
the video claims that no other ledger has this property, unsure if that's true, but it's certainly exceptional in the space
it's directed at enterprises, so in that sense it has to be practical. idk what utilitarian means in this context, it's definitely not meant for individuals to use.

I have a nice stack. Comfy hold, it's been holding well and it's on a gradual climb. I see this hitting over .25 in around a week. So much bullish news on the horizon: Coinbase listing, ETH bridge in development, PayPal joining the governance council.

Nonewfag the treasury tokens exist to be liquidated, not including the tokens they have from investing in the family and friends round (saft1) at .001c, they also continue to get those tokens for years. 12.5% tokens circulating the rest hitting the market have a cost basis of either 0 or .001c. Thissssss, even if you're not being rug pulled you're literally just kickstarting their project that may or may not take off.

Not saying they're a scam or anything but what's the store of value of $Hbar? Is it at least an utility token? Will people really buy your bags when the time comes? What would be the real incentive for that? Acquiring all 100 gorillion of them and becoming a board member of Nothing-Burger: The Company?

Not even fudding but everyone's throwing money at this thing like it'll insta-x10 or something. Like I did one week ago and sold for 20% profit.

>Tl;dr: You're all being used.

>> No.28839007

HBAR is a real project - dev here who has coded both blockchain (BTC, ETH) and DAG oriented (i.e., IOTA) data structs professionally. Both approaches have their own advantages / disadvantages - HBAR is just taking a diff route compared to the other "mainstream" cryptos you're already familiar with.

To me its diversifying into a crypto with a fundamentally diff technical implementation and also potentially realizing a 10-50x on a pretty new and upcoming project.
