28828405 No.28828405 [Reply] [Original]

Im 23 now and have known about crypto since I was literally 12 years old. Silk road shenanigans you know how it goes as a young druggie.

How do I cope with the fact that I never held any BTC and now have to start from scratch? It all seems so hopeless. The fact that nothing will ever be as dominant as Bitcoin.
Anyway, i have around 5k and dont know where to start. do i head over to Uniswap?

TL:DR Advice for someone who has always known, used , and believed in crypto , but has yet to invest heavily.

>The fact that nothing will ever be as dominant as Bitcoin.
BTC is dependent on transfer fees to justify high hash rates that keep it secure.

It can't and won't scale to handle mass transactions, and eventually block rewards will not be enough to incentivise the network. It will keep rising over the next few years but in time will evaporate. You haven't yet fully missed out, I recommend actually researching the projects that get shilled around here, and thinking about which platforms they run on. Then investing in the platform and speculating on your favorite pump and dump simultaneously.

I have a similar experience. Knew about it back in high school during the 2014 bullrun, would watch charts for fun despite having no money. Lost interest in crypto and decided to spend all my money on college instead once I graduated.

Go make a twitter account and follow the pro day traders. You'll get tips, alpha, and nice gem shilling. /biz/ is good for hidden gems spotting, they pick plenty of losers but never miss the biggest winners.

My grandpa told me about bitcoin 10 years ago. He's an old tech nerd and invented some important shit that's played a role in all of your pathetic lives. Anyway he bought a few AMD cards on a whim and tried mining solo, eventually figured it would take him a year to mine 50 bitcoins, and by that time he'd have wasted more money in electricity costs, so he gave it up.
A couple years later I heard about dogecoin and learned for myself how mining works. Sold all my dogecoin at $.0006.
Witnessed the 2017/18 bull run without making any money because I was a dumb teenager too busy having "fun."
Now here I am, 22, broke, sitting here looking at something I knew about all along yet never had the balls or intellect to put money into.

I'm 23 as well and have known about bitcoin for a long long time. Do not be ashamed. You were just a kid and not looking at how you could be the next millionaire
You probably had nothing to invest and it's not your fault your parents were no coiners. There's no point on dwelling on it. Crpyto is still in its infancy and even though you only have 5k you can still make it if you're patient. Stay off uniswap until you have an amount to gamble on shitcoins without getting fucked by gas fees.
You'd probably be best off throwing that 5k into BTC/eth 50/50 and walking away for a couple years.
You might have to hold for 5+ years but if you keep saving and investing straight into crypto you will make it.
