Union is making a new defi lego block. Meaning anybody can plug into their system and unlock 25% extra freed up capital then using those put options for collateral. Now if you also look at their other product which is a CDO ,or collateralized debt obligation, hedge funds and other investments will be able to sell debt at different risk tiers. Creating yet another new defi derivative primitive.

So say you loan out a million DAI and can you get a 10% return on that million DAI. Well you can give up one or 2% of that return and sacrifice it to UNN and have them take on the risk. Of course it won't be as cut-and-dry as this because everything with smart contracts is determined algorithmically and they will have their own way of determining what the cost the risk of that credit-default swap is.

The reason why I don't think everybody is aping in on this this because two things:

1, most people who are slinging shitcoins are only used to defi and the Crypto ecosphere which leads them to miss out on some of the gaps Traditional Finance has that Defi is missing

2,The other reason is that there's as Asian dude on the team that was originally from fusion. If you're not familiar Fusion got hacked. what happened is someone on the team just took a private key and stole money. That's about as much as a hack as it is guessing your cousin's Facebook password. Still he was the CPO so he was in charge of the product right. I found out yesterday Andre was also part of Fusion and turned out to make one of the most successful defi protocols out there. So past performance is not indicative of the future.

I don't really want to fud the project because I think it's fantastic but I think being aware of these things is prudent

The only other thing that I kind of don't like is the tokenomics for the governance token aren't super sexy. Something like this can always be corrected but I have seen another project that offers rewards based off of transfers of their governance token and they call it dividends. I think that's a really good idea and it keeps the people holding the token. Now of course being able to choose what types of risk the protocol's willing to take will be really beneficial especially if you're a huge project and you would like the protocol to accept your risk but for the average everyday retard with shitty attention span, having something slightly more immediate would be nice.
