Hammers, candles where the low is at least twice the distance of the main body, can be used to look for trend reversals. Sometimes you will see a hammer during a downtrend and that might signal a pump, although if you see one while there's an uptrend they are usually called a hanging man and can signal lows. As with most TA I don't base my decisions on them alone but they are useful.
