Guy's I'm about to jump off the stairs with rope. How do we get housing in the UK?

27
32k a year
100k saved but only want to use 50k as a deposit. It will be a cold day in hell before I use all of my life savings.

Is this not the most nihilistic thing of our lives? It's like 350k for an absolute shithole where I live in the south east. This will need atleast 50k to rennovate. I've literally given up on the idea of living in a "Nice" home for the foreseeable future. Rent is out the equation as its 70% of my salary after bills.

WHAT DO ?

Seriously, what is the right way to navigate through this absolute bullshit situation ?

what do you mean "Rent is out the equation as its 70% of my salary after bills."? that's an odd way to state your expense situation. you could have a ton of bills, and then rent taking up 70% of the remainder would be expected, especially with 32k salary (post tax?).

The UK isn't for you, it never was. The UK's philosophy has always been to treat working men as farm animals. Before this we were sent off to get torn to pieces in the world wars. Before that we were sent off to get cholera in order to maintain the empire. Before that we were shanghaied into working sailing boats for the navy. These men never got anything out of it. If you're old enough to have spoken to any WW2 vets they all regretted it after seeing how they were treated and what their country became.

This is why veganism is being pushed, within 3 years it’ll be “veganism is the default we’re not supposed to eat meat” you'll actually struggle to find meat options on the menus

Next meat will skyrocket in price
Bugs introduced to normal meat, first in the chicken shop “chicken”, then the tesco meats eventually it’ll be mostly flavored bug, elites will continue to eat as you do today, but lecture you constantly on how important it is for you to each bug-vitamin enriched meat. Same deal as how they all fly private jets and lecture you on the environment today.

Only then, with your belly full of bugs and fridge full of oat milk will they say “hand over the kids, bigot”

Your kids brains will be broken and puberty suppression becomes mandatory, then are your lowest moment tear rolling down your cheek as you see what they did to your “theyby” as they/them swipes away at fat positivity twerking videos on TikTok do they say “accept the chip, bigot”

Your brain hooked into the right-think stream, your opinions and attitudes mellowed and in line with what the journalists deem correct they’ll then pull out the brain kill switch gun and say “get in the fucking Amazon Prime Pod, cattle”

Where? Not that I don't share your sentiment, and everything else you've said is what my Father said to me pretty much word for word since I was a child, but the problem is that everywhere I can think of has similar/other issues:
Eastern Europe=not the developed paradise that 4chan thinks it is
Aus/NZ=cultureless, same problems as UK in terms of housing costs etc
USA=soulless cities/small towns, very difficult to emigrate to as a Brit.
Canada=USA-lite
Western Europe=just learn the language bro
based Japan=extreme difficulty fitting into their society, just learn the language bro
rest of Asia=the most developed places are completely cultureless, just go to the mall bro

I think the truth is that most of these places including the UK are fine if you have money to shield yourself from the worst of what society offers.

Do not get a shitty terrace house, it will be impossible to sell, jus trent and be happy with that.

Do no purchase a house with a large deposit, (10-15% at most). The total you will be paying on your mortgage will be 50% more than total house cost, make sure you keep enough back to invest in other things.

Other investments will increase in value at a rate higher than housing, so long as you are gaining in networth faster than your rent costs + the increase in housing costs you are golden.

Southern cities are underrated imo, but you have to choose location wisely.

The coast road is pretty, if you went through the interior then I understand. I only meant the city of New Orleans proper, communities built along a highway look the same anywhere in America. John Steinbeck was complaining about this 60 years ago and it hasn’t improved.

Im in a new build with many Indians and they fight the managing agents tooth and nail. They complain about everything. At first that made me look down on them but now I realise that's how you should be with the developers and managers. It will put them off trying to fuck with you.

THE STR’S AT THE HOUSE PRICE CRASH PUB MEETING ARE BACK-SLAPPING EACH OTHER AND CONGRATULATING THEMSELVES ON HAVING MADE SO MUCH MONEY BY SELLING THEIR PROPERTY AT A HIGH PRICE TO SOME POOR GULLIBLE AND NAIVE BUYER WHO GOT RIPPED OFF.

JUST AS THE PUB MEETING GET STARTED LITTLE DO THE STR’S KNOW THAT A MANIAC WITH A AK47 SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE TURNS UP AND STARTS TO GIVE THE STR’S WHAT THEY RICHLY DESERVE.

Just bought a house using a 50k deposit I got from selling some of my LINK. You could just get a Buy To Rent mortgage with an interest only payment scheme and just live it in yourself. Assuming you get it over 15-20 years by the time it's up you can sell the house from probably double what you payed for it or just remortgage. In the South East the mortgage payment will probably not be much more than your rent with the main difference being that if you can get fix monthly amounts in five years it'll probably be cheaper than rent. Alternatively if you're short on cash you can rent out the extra room for £7000 per year tax free.

>Certain music/art scenes? Architecture? Museums?
All of these. I've heard Boston is an easy transition for Brits/Europeans?

>Most other cities in America are spread out and designed for driving from place to place.
I understand this, I think it creates a feeling of isolation. To add to the above, I would like a safe, walkable downtown with interesting things going on at weekends, probably a city with a reputable university (usually implies a population with mostly fit/healthy/somewhat intelligent people). Lots of green space would be good too + safe public transport. I do not want my weekend day out to be a drive to the local strip mall supermarket.
I'm not sure the above exists in the USA.

FinTech. Can't give more away than that as there aren't many places in Leeds so it'll be a dead giveaway

You're right Nigel, America is a dystopian hellhole. Stay where you are.
