What I find weird about Algo, and why I felt like it was worth getting in when I did, is the near complete lack of biz overhype about it.

I personally got into algo 3 months ago after my buddy sent me a coinbase referall. I was watching all those vids to get the gibs. And Algos really stood out to me. That plus the interest being crazy. So I decided to test treating it like I would have treated my savings account (had I not emptied it after interest rates took a dive). I'm sitting on like 1100 algo with an average of a dollar per coin. Feels good.

People don't understand the yield on it. It's not free money (yet), they're just diluting market share. It's a total wash. The only reason the new coins aren't driving down the price is because there is enough new buy interest to keep the price up. Look at it another way, the chart is actually a lot more bullish than it appears if it can keep its price strong with 8% inflation. That said, if you hold all your coins until after 2030 the coin supply will be at max and then you'll start to see the real price appreciation. That is their design, they want you to hold for a long ass time to reap the reward of the current yield but unfortunately people don't understand the economics. Silvio is too high IQ for his own good.

It always shows you the total amount you have (what you have in your wallet + what you'll receive from steak)You can send yourself a blank transaction though to actually receive them though. I've been looking into Algo a bit recently. It seems really good but I'm trying to be sure of what it actually is and offers.
Is it basically a full Ethereum alternative? I can see that it does smart contracts and it has other components like indexing and querying built in. Pretty funny to see people jizzing over grt when this apparently does the same thing just as a standard feature. Am I mistaken on what Algo is and offers though?
