The code they added is skipping transaction verification of the so called bonus blocks, in reality the correct name for this is double-spending blocks. By skipping these blocks they allow their network to un-stall and un-fuck itself. Now these blocks are just accepted and network can continue rolling forward. Network was stalled because many validators did not consider these blocks valid. Now 99% of nodes run this "fix", they all consider these blocks and transactions in the valid.

What they fail to see these el33th4xor boys is that Ill make my own validator node or just rent one from a validator.

Do you know what I will do? I will take a few of those blocks, which exist on the network anyway and are accepted.

But, kids. I will modify the transactions in them. To send all those 790AVAX coins to my own address. Ill just keep the block hash the same.

Now you see kids, the transaction verification is skipped, this fix does not look whats inside the blocks. My also double-spending transactions BE ACCEPTED again. See "skipping atomic tx verification"

TOP KEK, you can all laugh now kids, gather your shorts.
