Precious metals are money. If you're looking to make more fiat, then just sit on them. Unlike many other markets like stock or crypto, this has an objective, undeniable supply. By buying, you've cornered a small portion of that supply that can never be taken away. This is a diminishing supply as more solar panels, cell phones, cars, batteries, and medical supplies are created and disposed. Just fucking sit on it. Don't do anything with it. Why are you investing in PMs in the first place ? Most of use do it for 2 reasons,
1. Store of value, the purchasing power of gold has remained consistent for millenia. Check the last thread for the math.
2. Hedge against hyperinflation. In case there is a point you need a barrel of fiat to buy bread, silver gets you the entire bakery. See Venezuela. An oz of silver buys you 1200 rolls of tp or 4 Volkswagen golfs.

As the prices go up premiums are acting weird. Generally buy as close to spot as possible- but the government rounds are trading about 8+ over spot- your biggest concern is how you liquidate when the price goes up. You know about the find from around 1997? A Homeless guy was walking along the banks of a river whos name escapes me in Central California. He found totally by accident a dilapidated strong box containing several hundred US $10 and $20 gold pieces as well as course gold nuggets, sticking out of the muddy creekbed. The idiot brought some of the gold to the local PD, and hid the rest. He was arrested because the police didnt believe him but was released after it was determined to be genuine, and under an agreement he would show where the rest of the gold was for a 25% finders fee. The gold than went into litigation for some reason and I lost track of the story since. The strong box was a Wells Fargo one though that I remember. I ll see if I can find anymore info after work on my desktop.

Dowsing is an art I am no good at, but i ve seen it work, I watched an old greek man who lived in the Keremeos district dowse a 9 gram nugget from surface with no indication there would be gold there. We were high on a hill side above a stream gutter and as he walked the rods crossed hard. I would dig a foot than the old boy walked back over the spot to determine the depth. The nugget popped out after about 10 minutes, and it was hard digging, no way he hid that nugget there, it was covered in clay and hadnt moved in 1 million years.

It's probably going to go back up to 1,500, so if you buy it now it's not a huge gain. There's always a chance it goes to 2,000, and a very small chance that it stays where it is now. Ultimately at its current price it's not worth investing in as it is more expensive than silver and likely won't grow as much now. A week ago it was 150 dollars cheaper and well worth it, now it's kinda iffy but will likely continue increasing very slowly.
