Kraken is okay-ish, but they went down a lot in 2017 and still they go down every once in a while.
Recommend you sign up to any other exchange that is not coinbase as a backup for when Kraken goes down.

Kraken and coinmetro are good as fiat on/offramp.
Binance is for unknown shitcoins, don't use them for fiat because they're shady.

What about ProBit? I dislike the design of the site but they also seem to have a lot of pros

Haven't used them.
I used BitPanda and CoinBase in the past and currently I use Kraken, CoinMetro and Binance (and Uniswap).
Just sign up for multiple ones so you have a backup to go to, or just try them a bit and see if you like them.

Their whole web interface is buggy as hell and full of wrong information.

I submitted my docs for address verification on the 6th of February, and they still haven't verified my account (they estimate it'll take until February 16).
They accepted my test credit card payment of 200 Euros to buy some crypto, but when I wanted to try out selling, staking and withdrawing, I just got an error message that I can't do so until account verification is complete. So I now have some 250 bucks worth in crypto that I can't withdraw or stake, and have to hope that Binance actually accepts the docs I sent them before I can do anything else.

Basically, all crypto exchanges are shit, but Kraken is the most reliable one I have experience with.

It seems a lot of stock brokers/crypto sites are really inconsitent for example: I have to give Binance my address (which they once declined even though I sent them proof, so Im not sure if its worth the hassle of continuing to try to get verified) while one of my friends was able to instantly buy there without doing any address verification etc. On the other hand, I was basically instantly able to buy stocks on eToro (I dont remember ever verifying or giving them any address, I just had to give them my taxnumber or sth dunno what its called in English) , while one of my friends' (same guy) address got declined (also for no reason).
