different tech, bitcoin is a store of value, ethereum is a decentralized computer, AAVE lets you lend and borrow money without a bank, some coins have staking etc.

basically the coins represent a technology, you can do different things with them

Mostly to pump and dump. Others think their actually building something, but all of them are just scammers that havent realized that their scammers yet. Bitcoin and Monero are the only legit coins imo.
