>If you had bought the SPY at the last second of trading on each business day since 1993 and sold at the market open the next day — capturing all of the net after-hour gains — your cumulative price gain would be 571 percent.

>On the other hand, if you had done the reverse, buying the E.T.F. at the first second of regular trading every morning at 9:30 a.m. and selling at the 4 p.m. close, you would be down 4.4 percent since 1993.

Yeah I have read the intelligent investor, diversifying and picking value stocks along with financially sound growth stocks for long term holds is a good and proven strategy. Many people who chase stocks or play high risk gambles tend to lose money over the long run. But today’s climate is a different time everyone at home, getting paid, aload of idiots investing in things they don’t understand and can’t read a chart. I think it’s possible to legit play the risk game for a few more months until printers stop and interest rates rise. Then again BOE said they may give negative interest rates

Question. I sold a covered call option with a break even of 5.96 and a strike price of 5.50. At no time during this week did the stock go at or past 5.96, but it did end up higher than the strike price of 5.50. I found out today that someone exercised the contract. Why would they do this? Yes, I don't have a license, I never really liked cars before.
I live in Europe and I always preferred public transport, riding in the 1st class on a train is one of the most pleasurable experiences. Most of the cities I lived in also had trams. Busses are not as comfy, but definitely worth not needing the hassle of owning a car.

>why would it go up
They've already been profitable for a long time. The typical SPAC that goes to 50-100+ merges with unprofitable companies that don't play to turn a profit for years. It's guaranteed to go up. How much is another question. Check their figures to get an idea.

To expand on this a little, hedgefunds have become the main market participants over the last decade by basically being allowed to leverage up unlimited amounts through various term maturity asset lending schemes, the amount of leverage in the shadow banking system that hedgefunds have created is estimated to be 35-40 TRILLION dollars. Now that the market is just completely awash with liquidity, destroying any economic signals in the process, shit like GME is completely feasible because you can just keep throwing massive amounts of liquid capital at any direction and eventually push the market the way you want. Right now VIX ETN's are forcing hedge funds to write MASSIVE amounts of VIX shorts to generate the longs they need for their product, currently at the highest inflows ever this creates a systematic risk to the shadow banking system, if VIX pumps hedgefunds will be quickly drawn down on their margin from the index and forced to sell possibly to cover those VIX short futures, creating essentially a reverse squeeze on the index. Remember, bear markets do not go low because people are trying to fundamentally find a good price, they go low because banks and people trading with debt need to liquidate sending the market lower and causing more liquidation.

This. Right now my job is interesting enough, but it is very mentally draining. I would love to start medicinal and gourmet mushroom farming: oysters, shiitake, maitake, lion's mane, reishi, cordyceps. I already grow very small scale as a hobby and am looking to expand a little and sell at farmer's markets once COVID dies down. If I went a career route with it, it would also set me up in a decent position to grow psilocybes if that ends up becoming legal; in Canada so more likely to happen here earlier than the US.

Oddly enough my background is math and computer science, but I find myself constantly drawn back to nature.

As for GTE, oil isn't going anywhere yet. Someday it will die, but not tomorrow or next week or even next year. Be patient with it and you could see it go into $2-3 range. I'm all about green dildos but a lot us are spoiled and don't know when to be a little patient.

Your account needs to be 25K TOTAL, this is regulated by FINRA.

Example:
$3.50 cash
+$24,996.50 in GTE
=$25000 total in the account

You can now intra day trade. Though, for accounts under 25K under FINRA, you can do four day trades per week. Of course...you can also have multiple accounts and increase your day trade limit until you can migrate everything into one account down the road.

Nature Valley Oats ‘n Honey Crunchy Granola Bar, Chobani Greek Yogurt (Raspberry), with Tumeric and Ginger tea.

Take the pay cut. Learn to live minimalistically. Actually sit down in a quiet room and think about what you honestly need, at a minimum, to be happy in life. Like, "with just this this and this, I could be happy for the rest of my life and not need anything else, if I'm being honest with myself". What would that be? The less you need the more free you will be. Happiness should be the goal at the end of the day, money can just be a means to that end but it isn't an end in and of itself. Tons of people are rich and miserable, tons of people are poor and happy. The happy immigrant landscaper and the depressed businessman are tropes for a reason.

For me, besides the basic necessities, I'm happy with just a decent computer with decent internet access, my musical instruments, weed and coffee. I cook all of my own food and grow the weed (legally where i live). Instruments were a one time purchase, guitar strings are cheap. That's all i really need to be happy, it's very low cost, but i like hanging out in my house most of the time or taking walks in nature which is also free.

I get stock ideas from people who have good track records on twitter, then perform the analysis on the chart myself
big buys during long flat period = whales accumulating = buy

If I slice a pepperoni pizza into 4 shares
And I slice a sausage pizza in 40 shares.
And you see that a share of pepperoni pizza is a lot more expensive than a share of sausage pizza - does that mean people think peperoni pizza is a lot better?

>we need more federally regulated diversity/sex hiring
>not enough women CEO's. Make the gov brow beat companies on quotas

She is being propped up simply because she has a pussy attached to her and she's her own CEO. Too bad she wasn't black, and that stock would be worth more than Amazon by end of day yesterday.

That's a meme. I've tried it extensively. Wouldn't recommend.

i mostly eat it for the probiotics desu, but yeah it's nice and healthy. i've also removed nearly all sugar from my diet for awhile so it's incredibly sweet for me, it tastes like a sorbet to me, i love it. i like all of the berry flavors the best.

I've been having a skinny 28 year old blonde shove a bag of these up her ass before I eat them
That's the same thing as probiotics, right?

the stock market is an auction, if a stock is expensive it means people are willing to pay that price for it at that time for whatever reason. the higher the demand the more holders of the stock can sell their shares for.

ZH is the only good insider publication this is true. And the only one that even vaguely tries to cut through the lies of the talking heads, lies which are fine for institutions and the normie cretins that work in them because its the culture there, but if you want to protect yourself and benefit from what's going on then ZH is useful. Some people unironically still don't know or believe the Fed is running the market for example.
Their Twitter presence is great also.

>banks fuck up repo market intentionally
>cry for QE
>Fed bends over to give them what they want
I'm still amazed about this sort of thing. Part of me wants an economic collapse just to spite these fiends, but I know large banks and asset managers get past recessions just fine given how entrenched they are.
