alright, biz
my current job is pretty comfy, 7 to 4 weekends off lots of holidays off. I had an interview today for another job that will pay about 3 dollars more an hour, and it's in the field I worked in when I was in the military. almost same schedule, weekends off same holidays off (more actually since they allow veterans to take veterans day off and will give you your birthday off).

now, here's the catch, my wife thinks I should stay at my current dead end job, because its convenient for us. new job is an extra 25 min commute, but it's in a field I'm surprisingly good at and more money.

I would like to hear some other frens advice, I want to keep my wife happy, but I would like to have a fulfilling career. now there's no guarantee I even get the job (interview seemed to go okay, but you never know with boomer), but if they give me an offer, I really want to take it.

any advice or other perspectives would be appreciated
also to keep in the name of biz, put the symbol of your favorite hold right now at the end of your post.

Why does she need 25 more minutes from you? Just take the new job.

How exactlt does you spending 50 extra minutes a day driving make your wife's life worse? If you think there are more opportunities at / you'd be better at the new job, go for it
