I would recommend investing in areas you know a lot about. I started investing in Tesla and AMD in 2017 when I was 18 and freshly graduated from high school. I had money from Bitcoin because a 14 year old me was an idealistic libertarian who thought Bitcoin was the future and I blew 400 bucks from my birthday on Bitcoin and held it and traded. Sold high, bought low, etc.

My actual intelligent investments were, as mentioned, AMD, Tesla, and some others. AMD because Ryzen 1000 had just come out and I saw it was going to be the best price to performance CPU yet so I bought up a ton at like 11 a share. Bought more with each release. I now have over 4000 shares of AMD. I did the same with Tesla. All the rich liberals in my area were buying them, I recognized they'd be the iPhone of cars. Bought it at a split stock. 42 per share was actually 21 in reality. Bought up a shitload of it. Sold it recently because I was worried about Michael Burry successfully shorting it and Elon's BTC antics so I sold it.

tl;dr just pay attention to shit that matters to you and invest from there
