How much money do you need to not be considered poor?

>> No.28531669

>> No.28531829

>> No.28532017

It depends who is doing the considering

>> No.28532048

if you have no or little debt, asset growth, and passive income; you are not 'poor'

>> No.28532074

When bitches throw themselves at you even though you're fat and ugly, you know you're not poor anymore.

if you have positive cash flow you aren't poor

>> No.28532293

Hard to define, but I'd say $0-500k familial wealth, for a liberal definition of poor.

A little bit above that and you are leanFIRE in cheap areas.

Familial wealth is the real focus here. If your daddy has $15 million set aside for you, you can have a low af salary or even negative cashflow I suppose

No debt and a steady income.

My rebuttal: needing steady income is a sign that you are at least somewhat poor

I'm not poor (I have money to live without working for the rest of my life) but I still do work both because I find it fulfilling, and because I don't want to spend my cryptocurrencies

>I'm not poor (I have money to live without working for the rest of my life) but I still do work both because I find it fulfilling, and because I don't want to spend my cryptocurrencies
That's fine. I'll still be performing some form work as well-as it is good for the mind, but this is orthogonal to the point in my post. The crux was that NEEDing steady income ~= poor

That is, if your steady income becoming undsteady over a short-medium period of time has you taking out credit card debt, getting evicted, etc, you are likely poor by a loose definition

>> No.28534775

>>28533708

I agree with your definition then
I could lose my job indefinitely and I'd give a fuck about it haha
I still want to work because I want to be productive and keep my brain sharp though, which to me is part of what means to be wealthy

>> No.28534943

Id say your poor if you can't afford luxuries in the form of traveling and such every once in awhile.
Being poor would be going paycheck to paycheck, whether you earn a large amount each year, if you have nothing saved or are in massive debt you are poor.

Awesome. Yes, this should definitely be part of it. I see it as freeing myself up to unleash my creative mindset-and engineering background-upon any problem I see fit.

It's going to be fun
