Why has this been slowly climbing? Are people really buying into the SEC hopium?

Whole market is moving and SEC hopium isn't bullshit. Rather, the SEC case is true bearshit at this point. Possibility of XRP to 2$ - 3$ EOM, if not higher.

Yeah but general discussion around GRT is general wonderment over the SEC issue. I'm just surprised its been moving without strong sentiment.

>true bearshit
I can see how the case is good for defining crypto standards and XRP is being made an example of in a way.

I don't see that price happening. My understanding is that the coin is primarily used for financing the companies developments. Bank won't use the coin itself but the underlying network.

You actually fell for the FUD. The underlying network is nothing with out a global standard for everyone to exchange against.

SEC case is literally the most bullish signal in crypto history. Once people looked at the details of the case and realized that it was botched at the core, XRP started climbing again and now US retail investors are just cucked. XRP will unironically be $10+ end of next year. $5 EOY.

This reasoning was why I bought originally but now I'm not sure if I'm 100% sold on the idea. Basically XRP acts as a transmission to ensure
1USD:XRP:1YEN or whatever other currency? How does adding another layer of conversion between currencies simplify the process? Speed? How would XRP maintain a price for transfer of CBDC A -> CBDC B while maintaining a consistent ratio between A and C, C and D, D and B etc? Maybe I'm misunderstanding.

OP read this. Then read it again. Then go read up on why CBDCs need a neutral bridge asset. Then go look at Ripple partnerships and who is involved.

Then come back here and tell us what price you expect after SEC lawsuit settles.

its not their goal to equalize every nations currency...
its more like everybody uses xrp instead of usd... in swift system it takes 3-4days for a transaction to settle compared to mere seconds for xrp... even the energy requirement is miniscule...

The underlying network is most efficient when using xrp for settlement. This is called xRapid. Banks will save tons on fees, will have the fastest settlement, with little to no energy costs. If they’re going to use the magnetic super rail, it just makes the most sense to use the corresponding magnetic bullet car.

You need a neutral (third party) intermediary to settle funds in a world where banks are forced to be competitive in a financial ecosystem. We can't settle transactions in JPM coin because there is too much incentive for JPM to give themselves and partners preferential treatment. We need a neutral middleman without a "dog in the race".

OP, you're going to be very glad you bought XRP but it is a very difficult hold. The vitriol and general climate is going to make you feel like you made a mistake but believe me... just tuck it away and forget about it. You will get a huge rash of shit from the community at large because XRP and Ripple is at the center of the future of crypto regulation right now. That draws very strong opinions from both sides for a lot of different reasons. Many people believe XRP is the antithesis to what they had imagined crypto to be but it

doesn't

fucking

matter.

This is not some cyberpunk utopia where we are all going to be our own banks.

>How does adding another layer of conversion between currencies simplify the process?

This is almost like asking why the price of BTC is so high. "Instead of buying BTC and exchanging it for a Tesla Cybertruck (by offloading the BTC to TESLA, which they then immediately sell for money,) why wouldn't they just give USD to TESLA instead? How is BTC valuable simply because it can be exchanged for money?" There are a variety of answers to this question, and they've all been provided by the market.

The answer to your second question, however, is not just "speed," but HYPERSPEED. XRP is easily the fastest currency conversion tool on the market, and to such an absurd degree that it looks like alien technology compared to almost everything else that's currently available. With XRP, you can buy crypto on an exchange directly from your bank account, without any sort of lag time. You do not have to wait several days for a deposit to clear first and then manually buy the XRP from a separate cash account hosted on the exchange... it just happens at instant speed, as though you had swiped your debit card. The possible applications for this are limitless. Person A can buy it on an exchange from their bank account, then send it to Person B's wallet on a different exchange, who then converts it back to whatever local currency is relevant to them, with zero lag time or currency conversion fees. The last thing that's missing is bank adoption. Once we get that, the world will feel like a completely different place.
