Please for the love of god don't use coinbase unless you're using pro.
I did the same thing when I first started out. Every trade costs you like a million bucks or something.
Switching from Coinbase to Coinbase Pro the fees like are 1/10th as much, I think. On Binance they are like 1/10th or even lower than that than they are on Coinbase Pro. Kraken has lower fees than Coinbase Pro too, I think.

I also don't trade on just one exchange because there are alot of good coins you can't get on just Coinbase or just Binance or just any other singular platform.

By the way, there's no "signup fee" or "monthly membership" or anything for the pro version. I think a lot of people think that and that's why they just use regular coinbase. It costs you nothing to use pro. Just the UI is totally different and a little more advanced compared to the watered down normie-tier regular coinbase.

Even coinbase pro fees are pretty high. With no volume they are charging you .5% of every trade. Whereas Binance.US they are charging you .075% a trade. Lol.

Anyway, I still use Coinbase pro for SOME of my trading......

Coinbase is the gateway since is normie friendly and easy to use, and has a good reputation, but if you want to trade is impossible since everytime is 5% fee, for long time hold is ok but if you want to trade use binance, you pay like 0.20% fee in total

Yeah I THINK it's made for normies. I dunno. It's a very simple and easy-to-use interface on regular Coinbase. I guess that's the thing.
If you're gonna be like "Ooooooo, look at me, I bought a crypto" and got no idea what you're doing then maybe it's just easiest for you to use regular coinbase and pay the fees out your ass since you'll likely HODL and won't be trading very often.
