You do know that you can pay off your mortgage early, right? You're not stuck paying off all the interest over 30 years?
If you're already living in an area where you know you're going to settle down in, just buy a house already. You're already paying for a mortgage, taxes, appliances, repair bills, interest, and an additional profit margin on top of that with your rent check.
