So boys, let's take an honest acessment of the bet at this stage, and what's at stake here.
What we have is essentially a game of russian roulette, and longs and hedges have been passing the gun back and forth, as is customary.
The problem is, the volume shown to us, and the players getting in have proven that we are 5 shots in, all blanks. Today was the passing of the gun back to melvin in the morning now they can short agan.
We have one of two options from this symbolic and literal passing of a loaded gun. They are going to blow their brains out in real life and financially and push it lower and lower, the absolute worst possible play at this juncture for them. Or, they are going to crab it and stall for time, in which case the gun jams.
I don't think Melvin knows what is at stake.
How do you feel about the chances GME?
Who's gonna die?

So you guys WANT it to drop, otherwise people are gonna start calling bullshit, then shorts get called out and the price skyrockets.

I like your vibe, but the momentum is done and out. My man the institutions have 205% of the shares.
That's /more/ than double the amount of shares that exist. The axe is already hanging over their neck, they are just pleading with the executioner and squirming on the chopping block.
The Volume not being in short covering range, EVEN combined after all this time, shows that the shorts have only gotten worse, this is why the talmudic estimation went from 50something to 78%.
And if that is true, with no coverings, it means that the short has only gotten WORSE.

yes but only because WSB's mods are doing all they can to stop the momentum. WSB has been on reddit's frontpage several times now because of GME which gave them millions of new subscribers jumping on the bandwagon buying GME.
Now the WSB mods have effectively removed all GME posts except those expressing negative sentiment. If they're working this hard to stop it from gaining momentum, they probably have good reasons to.

These are guys who didn't fit in well at i-banks, often got kicked out for having big mouths or not wearing the right ties, or just wanting to wear jeans at work and not fill out TPS reports. When they started their firms, people like Soros, Icahn, Steinhardt, Robertson, Cohen, Griffin, Loeb (who has posted anonymously on boards), Samberg, even Cramer were fish out of water and had very tiny amounts of capital, often begging for investors.

they accumulate & lock up as many shares as possible at the lowest price
after that, they would simply pump the price to a level enough to margin call the shorts
