LINK lost 90% while the rest lost 98-99.5%. It took a long fucking time for LINK to revisit its 2017/2018 highs. So what you're reassuring this person with is that LINK will be $25 again by 2022 if it all crashes in a couple months and that it might even pull $50 if he waits till 2023. Then it might do $100 in 2024 while literally everything sails on past it. Assuming crypto gets another bull run at some point.

You're really selling it here.

That's why it doesn't care about the bear or bull market and will continue to go up independently of the rest of the market.
And this is also why it seems to under perform during a bull market for someone with the attention span of a fish who can't see what's around the corner and why the price manipulation and fud attempts are getting stronger.

But please continue your efforts, I don't want any redditor to make money on Link.

They're saying that because like 1000 people own 80% of the share of link, and they're not selling, there's no way for it to pump because there's no liquidity there at all.

idk if they're correct though.

Linkers with time in the bag probably won't sell more than 10% even at $100. The opportunity cost is too huge, Chainlink is crabbing to $1k whether newfriends realize it or not. It is hard to impart the perspective of having held Link through a bear market that Link preformed extremely well in.

Without the dumb money, Sergey would have to dump the entire dev wallet to keep DeFi afloat while that same dumb money pumps ETH. As it is, the nodes are running close to a 50% loss on each block. Without the current valuation, LINK fees would need to be subsidized 270%. That'd push LINK through the floor without the dumb money to mop that up. LINK cannot survive a bull market without retail support.

>> No.28347532

>>28346575

This is how I look at the market as well. Do you think that each service and sector will have a monopoly that blows everyone else out of the water or will it be a tighter market share for things like DEFI? I also think decentralized cloud storage and computing will eventually matter albeit maybe farther down the road. What other services will drive bull cycles I wonder? I always thought Steemit was interesting or at least decentralized social media but it never took off and became infested with bots basically.

>> No.28348152

>>28345414
There isn't enough liquidity to keep it from crashing when a few billion in fiat gets shed from the market over enough of us cashing out 10K LINK at $100.

There's more than enough to keep the exchanges and dev teams solvent but not enough to support a few thousand people collectively carving a few billion out of the market. The total liquidity in crypto today is $2.6 USD equivalent. At $100 LINK, there'd be a lot of LINK positions that could shed millions of USD worth of tokens to cause massive liquidity issues and so these people need to be kept in their place.

It's cheaper to wall LINK down and accumulate it with Tether (costs nothing really) than it is to watch actual people run to the doors for actual dollars on Coinbase, Kraken, and Gemini. The actual fiat exits are not for us until waves of retard money enter and crush all the walls.

For the time being, it's mostly about whales accumulating BTC through alts and whales selling BTC OTC.

i don't think there will be monopolies but the herd will be a lot thinner than today. It'll be like the dotcom boom/bust where tons of bs companies popped up and folded in the span of a few years, leaving behind the real companies that survived. We don't need hundreds of bitcoin killers, hundreds of eth killers, and we definitely don't need thousands of tokenized projects that work on very small problems with little scope. All of those will fade away and projects that solve generalized problems will take their functionality under their umbrella.

When you look at previous cycles everyone was trying to repeat the sucesses of the past but better or faster or cheaper. But while people were trying to build a better bitcoin, ethereum came out and stole the show. The projects that drive future cycles won't be marginal improvements, they'll be the first of something new that hasn't been thought up yet. So i can't really tell you what will drive the next cycle because its probably a solution to a problem that doesn't exist yet.
