What are some protips for a starter investor? things you wished you knew before starting? should I go with crypto or stocks?

>> No.28322893

Diversify your portfolio, dont all in (or at least not until you're more experienced...but you never should)

This took me three years to realize, you should ideally buy at a low price and sell at a high price.

but that doesn't make any sense

The one exception is if you're under 2k, then allinning is the only way to /makeit/

also DYOR. Investing is zero sum and most people want your money

There's nothing wrong with profit taking and swinging when things get volatile, but only do it with an asset that you don't mind holding long term anyway.

youre not going to get anywhere very fast. If you actually want to understand, go read the bitcoin whitepaper, and if there's something you don't understand look it up and find out what it is, then read the ethereum whitepaper and do the same thing, come back when you're done

I'm finding the info i'm researching a tad overwhelming right now, especially about crypto. i don't think i'll really understand until i get into the meat of things and try it.
seeing all the terms and the exchange charts makes me feel like a retard.

Have a plan and stick to it. If you wanna all in, then do it but don't fomo. I lost nearly 1k on transaction fees alone fomoing this year. If I actually just held my portfolio would be up 20% more than it is now.

I unironically think PLTR is going to hit 75 EOY but recently caught the crypto bug. Seeing 25% gains on my portfolio EVERY day made it hard not to pull out of stocks and all in on crypto but I need to hedge my bets.

which means your late on BTC and the big boys. Go find small caps to try to hit home runs on.

You can either go with meme'd coins like RBC which are going to go up simply due to memes and hype, or actual projects which start small and grow. DYOR.

These are home run swings and dont always pan out. High risk/High reward. There are 100x's out there right now below a penny.

go all in on a good project and be patient

invest in coins that go up and don't invest in coins that go down.
