There's no way the SEC goes through with this fight that the last regime started. They lawyered up with the biggest noses and a couple ex SEC big wigs. The SEC is claiming that back in 2013 Ripple was selling XRP in a manner that could be considered similar to a security.

The reason it's a big deal is that Ripple supposedly has huge deals lined up in the US but the potential clients (big banks and government) are afraid to use their infrastructure in fears that the SEC will make it illegal. If XRP is found to be a non-security, it will be one of the few if not, the only crypto with an actual huge real world use. Also, the XRP pump will not be caused by retail investors purchasing in a speculative manner. What you have to understand is right now all the governments in the world are ready to put into place digital stablecoins to run alongside their fiat, and eventually replace their fiat. XRP will be hoarded by governments and banks to facilitate the transactions between foreign currencies instantly.
