Is dollar cost averaging a good way to purchase BTC (say 10% of my gross pay check)? Why or why not?

DCA is a boomer strategy, just watch the daily charts and buy the dips

Its the safest strategy you should be doing it.

DCAing BTC is the only thing I do with Cryptocurrency.

Ive had a few goes at trading shitcoins, and while I did make profits doing it, it took too much effort and time fucking around to do it, having to constantly watch shit.

Now-days I just treat BTC like my index fund, every 2 weeks I exchange fiat for BTC, as much as I can afford, every 2 weeks. Once Ive accumulated $5k or so worth of BTC I move it off the exchange to my private hardware wallet for cold storage.

It's a good way to invest in general because it just feels like a normal expense if you do it on a regular schedule. You'll feel much less pull to panic sell something that way than you will by making huge random purchases.

desu trading is for people in 6 figure hell trying to make it with a couple more double ups or people in 4 figure hell who need to hit a moonshot so they don't rope.

if you have a regular income DCA is the way to go

DCA works during a bear market. In a bull market, getting in right away and having time in the market is crucial, otherwise you could easily miss days of huge gains.

I think this is true. Most optimal would be to do both, though. Set up a smaller daily/weekly DCA and lump sum buy ASAP. And once we get into bear, increase the amount you DCA. Best to just start DCAing as quickly as possible.
