If I don't have much capital in my brokerage account is it better to just sell my small gains and then keep reinvesting until I gather a decent amount of capital? I started with 1100 and am floating around 1400 now.

Fuck at least it's not offices.
I had a similar residential REIT play going but I don't think it's worth it without leverage. The market is so biased against REITs right now that they're having trouble with financing, when they should be aggressively expanding.
Personally I like to have as many tickers as I can research, and I dial it back when I hit the limit of distraction or when I don't have enough high confidence plays. Right now I'm getting a great win rate, but I can't tell the 2 baggers from the 4 baggers and I think that means I'm right to spread it around some. These stocks always have been insane since inception. I remember two years ago CGC was priced on future earnings selling to the US market and it didn't happen. It's like that again right now... It needs to be federally legalized for anything important to happen, and I don't expect Joe to get on it at all, or at least for two years.

As more info came out I reduced most of my other positions and moved into NYMT due to both my confidence and news about the various REITs. If all goes as planned I will not need to get a job by eoy. Spot on.
The first one is rough because you researched the stock and decided it was going up. So why didn't you just buy it? Well a put involves less risk. You have to prepare to be happy with this outcome because if your research was right, it happens a lot.
>sell put
>stock goes up
>maybe it dips below your strike to tease you first like anon described here
>this is okay because my research told me I will probably get to keep the premium
>I decided to go after premium and take on less risk
So you do this only when there is a reason to sell a put instead of buying stock. Puts are safer than holding stock because your downside is protected, that's a good reason. Maybe IV is high because the stock is falling, when put buyers are willing to pay more.
Make sure you think about all these things and understand why you're using your capital one way and not another. Sometimes buying and writing covered calls is better, sometimes just buying the underlying is better.

$5-7$ for BB is absolutely fair price. What we're currently seeing is not.

My with PLTR is that their business model is not scalable. They basically develop a new application for each customer. That would be linear, so it's not that bad... But they also have to support and maintain their shit for each customer individually. And that is not good business. They will drown in support in 1-2 years. Most good engineers leave by then. Customers get unhappy. Business collapses.

Try reading my actual concerns before replying. The fact that market cap involves speculation on replacing hippie flowers with Sweet Water Brewing Co. is a big big red flag.
Here is what I said
The hippies want to buy local flower, not Canadian flower, not flavored drinks. The valuation of the entire sector is based on investors not understanding the consumer market, they think lab-tested hippie bud from Norcal is basically moonshine and consumers are going to pick up Walmart Store Brand blunts instead.

You need special licenses to not only produce but also to distribute and in almost all states you must be vertically integrated. Article from 2019. Obviously I sold the meme pump but I need a buy in and I don't think it's going to $5, I'll take out a fucking HELOC if it does. It's a highly momentum driven stock on the short term with solid, long term factors underpinning it (good patent portfolio, solid financials, industry that's picking up steam and is expected to grow 70% CAGR). Either buy and forget about it or swing on momentum. Right now, volume is high but not unusually so. It will dump on days when the hype dies down and volume goes to below average. That's your buying opportunity.

If you look at the chart for a year of OXT you'll find a pattern of shooting up, then dip in a specific way before shooting up. They've been a profitable growing business with a rising market cap for 12 months before it caught up in a meme pnd. Of course insiders trimmed after a doubling in 12 months.
I don't understand why you think the managers have driven it into the ground. Are you saying that just because Chen was around in 2008? What about the R&D pivot he drove in the ensuing 12 years my man?

They were a market leader in smartphones. Now they are not. That's what I mean by "driven into the ground".

QNX sales are waning too. Even though they are (supposedly) in more cars, they probably just sell it for less. It already went for pennies, mind you. Other RTOSes and fucking linux is eating their lunch. A measly PR cloud partnership won't save them unless they actually sell it to a proper OEM and into mass production, not just a trial run.

Dig into what factors explain the 2020 revenue dropoff, and try to make predictions about whether those factors are changing.
All I can say is that I believe the market's sleeping on this one. Or it was, until the speculative fundamental play was BTFO by a meme pump.
>They were a market leader in smartphones. Now they are not. That's what I mean by "driven into the ground".
We must both think the other is retarded, I get it.
I understand what happened to Blackberry in 2008, and I understand that Chen was there when it happened. Your conclusions are wrong because they are disproportionately negative. You corrected too far to the downside. Which is why you'll feel smug when it falls to $7 and I'll be buying more. I appreciate your feedback but it just doesn't seem very deeply informed.
>QNX sales are waning too.
It's in 175 million cars now versus 150 million last year.
Sales are down, how does someone who actually cares about researching companies solve this paradox? Easy, the whole new car market collapsed last year. This data is not useful for forecasting. What's useful is answering the question of whether QNX will be in Teslas, Fords, Toyotas, and the Apple Car. Signs point to yes.
I tried to explain this forecast. Past performance doesn't equal future results, you know that works in the negative as well as the positive right?
I really appreciate this, having to defending my thesis is very valuable to me.

But their QNX+IVY and EV posturing smelled like bullshit. We'll see. As I said, they may announce a proper mass production sale of that shit, then I'll be convinced. Before that it's vaporware. Especially since OEMs really really like to roll their own data collecting infrastructure (msot already have an in-house one with no incentive to buy from a supplier).

Also mind you this should not detract from speculating on meme factor, all I'm saying is that they don't have old school fundamentals.
