There's a number of different things one could do to make it more defensible.. Namely hiding it a lot better like with shrubbery. But if you didn't want it being hidden as the first line of defense, you could put up high voltage electric fence... Really when you think about it the homes we live in are far far less defensible... "Oh someone could just burn the house down". Yet you risk living in the thing along with everyone else even in a SHTF situation.
