not a currency if you can melt it down and make electronics out of it. It's an industrial material. You could just as well just buy $2500 worth of iron or aluminum and sit on it like an oz of gold as they will also rise in value relative to currency just like gold. You could do that with any non-perishable item used in manufacturing. You could stockpile PVC pipe for the apocalypse and it would probably be more useful than gold if PVC manufacturing were to cease

The only reason gold is desirable in that regard is it's small and value-dense, but you could do the same with iron ingots and probably get the same return. From what I have seen in the past, especially the last cycle, BTC likes to top around 10x from its bottom in the “first sell-off”. This cycles “first sell-off” bottom being ~28k meaning the top should be like 280k. I personally am excited to see what happens at 100k.
