Entire market will tank

>> No.28148994

Serious question, what the fuck is going to happen to tether when the market tanks? Is it going to stop following the USD? What kind of shitstorm will this unleash?

>> No.28149114

Can one of you in here please summarize to me what is going on in simple terms? I remember reading a few weeks ago that tether had to prove in court that what they do is the truth, etc. I read people saying it was going to tank afterward. I see that never happened, so can someone catch me up as to what the fuck's going on now with it?

Seeing as Tether is partially backed by USD, on paper they'll have to dump BTC on the market to regain liquidity.

In reality they'll just close up shop and walk away with the bitcoin while leaving the market with hundreds of billions of dollars of worthless tokens that you can't redeem for USD. Paolo is the only person at that company with a face, the others are literally all anonymous pseudonyms.

This. Tether is going to be a complete shitshow. It might not spell the end for Bitcoin but it will be a major happening and may usher in a lot of regulation. Tether will be the biggest exit scam in cryptocurrency history.

>cryptocurrency history
Bernie Madoff "only" scammed $65 billion in his record-breaking ponzi. If Tether goes to 0, that's already 30 billion, but you have to assume BTC is going back to sub-10k and most alts propped up by tether are going -90%. That's an instant loss of at least 800 billion dollars. It'll be the biggest exit scam in the history of finance.

I mean, documentaries are going to look back at this and say "how can they have been so stupid, this anonymous company printed $1b USD every day or so and they didn't think it was suspicious?"

>> No.28151955

Tether fud has never left because Tether is one of the most shady companies in existence and has created a trillion dollar market out of some hot air and FOMO. Even most BTC bulls admit they're blatant scammers. But they've become so integral to the entirety of crypto and make up such a huge percentage of the pumps and fomo that it's become taboo to talk about it.

Tether will bust and BTC will be under 5k within 2 years. Screencap this.

You're only saying this because you're hoping it happens because you want to buy BTC cheap

Im sorry, but you had 3 years to accumulate BTC.

It took them 10 years to get Madoff even though in hindsight, it was extremely obvious and people were calling him out on his unsustainable gains. The reason it took so long? So many people were invested with Madoff that they didn't want to believe their 15-20% annual returns were fake. They completely blinded themselves with greed. When everyone in crypto is profiting enormously (on paper) from Tether's ponzi scheme, why would they want it to pop?

>> No.28153944

The collapse of tether will be the biggest shock to the crypto sphere in its history. Expect 90%+ losses in valuations as everyone rushes to secure their wealth.

All tether pairs will skyrocket becoming almost worthless. They will sell for less than 0.10 on the dollar.

All Defi applications that have tether will shit their pants and we will see billions wiped off through margin calls. 10,000s will lose their savings . Centralised firms like celcius will also likely go bankrupt and keep all of the user deposits.

Other pairs like usdc or busd may suffer some % loses as well but they will be relatively safe.

After this expect regulators to come in and take over crypto.

>> No.28154201

>>28151955
It’s not like anyone takes the cryptosphere seriously in the first place. It has always been about deception of some fancy promising technology and increasing profit by holding shitcoins

It’s a volatile daytraders paradise and largest redistribution of wealth the world has ever seen. Otherwise, it’s merely a meme

Honestly I wish the FED would publish a stablecoin so at least the ass fucking we'd get is the same pounding we're taking with USD.
